To be fair, i think if you asked Cthulu nicely, he would end the world and drive your enemies to madness for you.

[–] FilthyShrooms@lemmy.world 10 points 10 hours ago

Yea, you have stupid powers. Cthulu has cool powers

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 31 points 15 hours ago (3 children)

Wouldn’t he go insane being that close to Cthulhu and looking at it?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 19 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

You only go insane becsuse you can't comprehend an alien. I don't think anyone in modern times would be affected unless they were as hyper-racist as Lovecraft was.

You don’t think telepathically mind-fucking Cthulhu would drive fish boy insane?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 17 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

It might drive Cthulhu insane. We don't know what Aquaman's mind is like. 🤷‍♂️

[–] Rose_Thorne@lemmy.zip 5 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

I'm more surprised we don't. Has a psychic never mind-dived Aquaman? Martian Manhunter hasn't Head-Handed him? That's how J'onn says hello!

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 7 points 12 hours ago

All the other super heroes think of Aquaman like most real people and havent had much interest in learning more about him. Well, except Batman. Who still can't read his mind, but can psycho analyze him well enough to devise a plan to stop him if he goes evil.

You're assuming that a man who spends all day talking with fish is sane in the first place.

Just go to a fish breeder convention. Find the sanity there.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 8 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Do they fuck the fish or do they get fucked by the fish?

[–] Rose_Thorne@lemmy.zip 9 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Sometimes one, sometimes the other, sometimes both.

Sometimes multiple, but cephalopods are getting harder to book.

you have to be a knight to go to fish breeder conventions? damn i knew i was small time but this... i may have to go have a long shit about it.

[–] lemmyseikai@lemmy.world 26 points 15 hours ago

He did. You are seeing the delusion.

[–] nocturne@slrpnk.net 8 points 11 hours ago

There was a qfig made of this.

According to Wikipedia, this ability is

Telepathic control of all aquatic life

Does this actually count? What constitutes a creature as "aquatic"? When I swim at the beach, am I considered "aquatic life" until I leave the water again?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 6 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

All of 'em. Even microbial life. IIRC, he once killed a dude by telling seamonkies or something to explode a MFer.

[–] warmaster@lemmy.world 10 points 15 hours ago

It depends if you're a hydrohomie or not.

[–] crunchy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

actually, since all life descended from the ocean, Aquaman does have some slight mental influence on humans.

[–] SatyrSack@quokk.au 5 points 14 hours ago

Has this line of thinking ever been explored in the comics or anything? This all seems like something that I would expect the creators to have addressed, but I just don't know anything about this character.

[–] wander1236@sh.itjust.works 5 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

My immediate thought would be anything that requires being in water for some length of time to live.

I'm not sure where amphibians would fall though.

[–] porksnort@slrpnk.net 1 points 2 hours ago

No one knows what to do with amphibians, in a way it is similar to dealing with bisexuals
