It's hilarious because right wingers in Sweden are constantly moaning about how the lbgt flag is unnecessary since the Swedish flag stands for the same values.

In Sweden the pride flag covers any and all 😄
Seems like people are misunderstanding. Flying the original rainbow pride flag is fine, in most contexts, specifically as a person who is homosexual.
However, when entities claiming to be inclusive fly Pride, it is commonly accepted to fly the updated Progress Pride flag with the trans and black/brown stripes. This is because there are, unfortunately, people who are gay but are also racist and transphobic and use the original flag as a dog whistle to say that trans people and people of color are unwelcome at best. Think of Log Cabin Republicans, conservative homosexual men who are actively trying to erase trans rights.
This may not be the intended message. But dividing trans rights from gay rights is a pretty sharp issue in queer spaces, especially given the current political climate around trans rights and POC queer people, who might not be on Sweden's radar, it at all. Hence why the black and brown stripes are important.
A symbol is intended to communicate a cohesive idea. I would prefer it if they used a more cohesive symbol, otherwise it feels like a dog whistle.
