At least the housefly got to feel morally superior for a little while

Whatever the protest voter wanted to do if Trump won... they could have also done if Trump lost.

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 14 points 4 weeks ago

And it would have been more effective.

"Would you rather be fighting uphill, or fighting up a sheer cliffside with armed goons shooting and throwing rocks at you from the top, and passing laws making it illegal for you to climb?"

Stop rewarding corporate captured centrist parties for failure. They will be annihilated next time around if they come back offering the same plate of shit.

The Dems need to learn from Republican successes. Those fucks have fully embraced the far-right, so the Dems need to put forward a true leftist agenda to fight back. Centrist politics have completely collapsed, it's time to wake up and smell the coffee.

I feel like what determines whether the democrats move fully to the left or not is if Zohran is able to deliver on many of his promises. If he fails they'll use it as justification that the party should be moving more rightward. However if he succeeds, then the sky is the limit

The genocide supporters won their election, yes, this is true.

The cockroach died first so the ants were happy.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 10 points 4 weeks ago

since cockroaches have developed resistance in some case, they killed all the other bugs instead.

Idiots still confused why "boot" generated such poor enthusiasm since it was the only other option...

Still dedicate ridiculous amounts of time arguing against any actual pro-insect candidate.

[–] HazardousBanjo@lemmy.world 2 points 4 weeks ago (4 children)

Your perspective is so fundamentally flawed you had to change what the pic said to fit your narrative.

We simply wouldn't be anywhere close to the apocalyptic speed run into fascism and genocide on US soil under Kamala.

You're fucking delusional if you're still "both sides"-ing this late in the game.

Too bad millions of vulnerable minorities and women have to suffer now because you couldn't see the painfully obvious differences. The blood is partially on your hands now.

We’re doomed.

[–] the_q@lemmy.zip 9 points 4 weeks ago

Hmm all the bugs wound up dead... Even the ones that we're like "both sides" and "I don't even live in this country." They didn't save anyone or change anything, they just complained the entire time they died.

Fuck AI art.

[–] mhague@lemmy.world 5 points 4 weeks ago

Plot twist: you're the fly and the ants killed you to find common ground with the insecticide.

I mean, we're seeing a rapid rise of the far right in almost every Western nation at about the same time.

This is relevant to much of the world

[–] Socialism_Everyday@reddthat.com 1 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Good point in specifying that this problem is mostly specific to the western world (and a few Latin American countries).

[–] HazardousBanjo@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I mean, Latin countries are certainly in danger too.

A fascist America means cold war era coup attempts in Latin countries are back. Maybe the US support won't be in any way incognito whatsoever this time. US might straight up be sending troops all over Central and South America soon.

Look at what's happening to Venezuela right now.

I mean, it's not like Milei, Bolsonaro or the Nobel Prize laureate aren't heavily supported by the US. "Cold war coups" never really stopped in Latin American countries

[–] HazardousBanjo@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Prepare for it to esculate.

At least if we still had a democracy, it'd be easier to both spread the word and engage in meaningful protest to stop or severely hinder it domestically.

We don't get that now. Nearly no mainstream media outlet has made mention of Venezuela until a Dem asked about it this week, and even so it ain't getting the coverage it needs.

[–] Socialism_Everyday@reddthat.com 1 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

How did the "democracy" prevent all the Cold War shit? Millions of murdered in Vietnam, Korea, Laos, Cambodia, Cuba, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Iraq... US warmongering is bipartisan and kills millions regardless

[–] HazardousBanjo@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Also, one of the main reasons the Vietnam war ended was mass protests against it.

The war had become extremely unpopular in the USA.
