While this is an explosives manufacturing plant in the US that just exploded

I saw the story on !news@lemmy.world

I’m cross-posting it here as apparently they produced filler for 155 mm shells. If it turns out that this is sabotage from Russian intelligence, as with the explosions in Czechia some time back, this will obviously have some substantial implications for the Ukraine situation.

EDIT: https://www.aesys.biz/supplementary-charges

Accurate Energetic Systems, LLC (AES), a prime contractor to the US Government, specializes in the production of high-grade supplementary charges for military applications. Our extensive experience and advanced manufacturing capabilities allow us to supply top-quality explosive products, including TNT and PBXN-9 Supplementary Charges, primarily used in 155 mm artillery systems.

It could be but I am fairly sure Tennessee Republicans are more hellbent and committed to killing off their constituents than Russia could ever manage, it would be a target, I can see the logic but the state is run by what is essentially a deathcult so lack of safety practices, lack of safety culture as opposed to toxic cavalier masculinity, and lack of regulation are far more likely causes.

...like have you ever read about meatpacking plants in Republican states? I can't imagine how little weapons plants give a shit about their workers in Tennessee.

If you have never experienced deep red US, the lack of value of human life might shock you given how rich this country is. Do not underestimate it.

Idk they had another explosion in 2014 and they're only a tertiary producer of explosive filler for the shells.

The risk reward in attacking such a small supplier really isn't worth it.

Probably just American corruption and cost cutting.
