This is only to strengthen our alliance together. Manyyyyyyy nations have bases here. It’s not out of the norm. I worked on base with dozens of foreign nations soldiers. It’s how we work and build alliances.

Time for the US citizens to taste just a tiny bit of what's like to be in another country.
And if you don't like Qatar having a base in the USA maybe you should grab your toys and fuck off the bases the USA had all over the world.
Oh, big agree on that second half. I think, realistically, the US should offer to pull bases out of wherever they're asked to- Especially after this current regime.
Or just offer to sell the shit to the local governments on our way out. Either way, no more Imperialist bases would be dope.
I mean living right next to Russia I like having American soldiers in our bases because if Russians decide to bomb a base, the US has a reason to help us (beyond the obvious NATO article 5).
But I can very much see how not every country may want or need American bases.
This is kind of my line of thinking with the 'if they want us there'- I have no issues lending consensual protection to ally nations at all, but it's very clear many of the world's nations want us to back off.
I'm of the opinion it's probably time to do so. Maybe turn our attention inward and start looking at making some amends with the Reservations or something, who knows.
I imagine there's a lot you could do with the excessive money being spent on the military, but to be fair, I'm pretty sure any politician who's gonna propose greatly reducing military spending is going to get assassinated.
I'm not a politician, but I'll keep running my mouth about it. If they gotta pop me for calling them losers thats on them.
Ah I suspect you'll be safe on that account. I meant more like if a senior house representative starts kicking up too much of a fuss or something lol
Why? It just makes no sense.
America gets to experience an occupying foreign military force.
Good. Learn one fucking thing you stupid turnips.
Turns out that the unqualified Secretary of War misspoke and doesn't understand that words have meanings.
That's .. good? I think? 🫠💀
We should send this entire administration to Qatar
Yeah Qatar is going to have a training facility for their F-15 pilots to work with American pilots in Idaho (along with Singapore's Air Force facility there in the same base). It is a facility in a US base not a Qatar base.
That said absolutely in my opinion the gifted jet was part of this deal.
Big icky. Do not like. No thank yooouu. Even if it weren't a questionable time in American history, feels like it offers too many opportunities for bad shit to happen.
I say this knowing damn well that's hypocritical as an American, but also knowing damn well that it's why the US does it too.
You want to export weapons all over the world, but are annoyed that the buyers need some place to train their people?
Me? Not particularly. I'm more of a 'wow war as a whole is kinda dumb' type person but 🤷🏽♂️
