First Just Joey is out:

Fave rose.

Edit: and to celebtrate I'm doing a shitload of mini dim sims for dins.

[–] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Just Joey! That's my favourite rose too! Mum used to have an extensive garden with some of my favourites (Just Joey, Peace, Black Boy, Queen Elizabeth, Blue Moon among others) but this one was my favourite for its heady fragrance.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago

My mum has a few roses and Just Joey is the only one she knows the name of because it's still got it's tag on it.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

That's pretty. I don't have any roses at the moment, I'll live vicariously through yours. Is it scented?

I’m so fucking embarrassed that it took me this long to realise I haven’t been singing in my voices natural key. Which is why everything takes ages to learn.

Not any more it seems lol. I’m singing pretty much every song I like and it’s easy.

Learn music theory!

[–] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Joni Mitchell took 40 plus years to find out the same thing. She'd been singing falsetto all her life up till then.

I feel better knowing I'm in good company :)

[–] Sasha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 days ago

Ayyyy congrats!

I've learnt this lesson twice over now haha, once to know things were mysteriously easier around E# and then a second time to realise that was only the case when I started using chest voice properly and embraced being a baritone.

Question of the day: When you take the old sheets off the bed do you refer to that as "stripping"? As in I've stripped the bed ready for the new sheets to go on later or do you call it something else or never thought about it.

Fuck I think that's the 3rd time I've edited my spelling.

Flay and spank it.

Oops, wrong thread

The bed's raw now.

When I crash at a friends I ask if they want me to strip or make the bed.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)
[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 4 days ago

Interesting

Yep, have always called it stripping the bed..

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 6 points 4 days ago

I'd say stripped the sheets if I haven't put new sheets on the bed yet, once I've remade it I'd say I changed the sheets.

Always been taking the sheets off for me.

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 5 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

I call it "stripping". I suppose "changed the bed sheets" works as well, but I use "strip/stripping" 99% of the time.

So I froze margarita mix then ran it through the Creami and added tequila. Is a margarita daiquiri a thing?

My girlfriend has finally decided to check out bone conduction headphones. The whole time we've been together she would just play things on her phone constantly because she didn't like things in or around her ears.

She decided to get some bone conduction headphones, completely unprompted given I have a spare pair she could have used. I might finally get some peace and quiet if she takes up using these

Warts on my toes are returning, which would be whatever, but there is now a small one forming on my FUCKING FINGERTIP!! Right on my fingerprint. Like, excuse me? We could have lived in peace, but this strain of HPV has forced my hand.

I bought a nitrous oxide freeze device from the pharmacy. I'm going scorched earth on their asses.

Edit: ha ha ha that was farked

B_R has a blowtorch, now Spud has an ice device. That’s fire and ice/water.

We only need someone to get a leaf blower or compressed air gun for air and err… something for earth so we can be elemental benders

[–] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Ceramics class? Pottery certainly qualifies as earth bending.

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago

Maybe Taleya with the mortar trowel or a cement mixer

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago

I'll get the ryobi out of the shed for you if you like!

another very early night tonight

gotta shake this sore back and virus

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 8 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Good gig last night.

Never really liked the venue (Brown alley). not sure how i feel about having a mugshot taken. Also no passouts which is odd because they stamp you when you go in. Pretty scathing reviews on google lol. Good sound though.

Last track they played has been a top 3 of mine for years and I don't think I'll ever hear it on a loud rig again so that made it worth it.

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Glad you had a good night man!

What was the track?

I go through this endless cycle of installing instagram, zoning out for ages, deleting it so I don’t do it again and then reinstalling a day or two later.

Good fucking lord those ikea induction plates go like the proverbial

[–] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Stove? If so, I agree. I've been very favourably impressed with my little induction one plate from Temple & Webster. So useful. Even has a porridge button which I thought very unusual when I got it but does just wonderful rice. The quick boil button is fair frightening how fast it is - at least as fast as a kettle.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The other thing I've noticed with induction is that it doesn't seem to cause things like porridge or eggs to cook onto the bottom of the pan as much. I've got a gas stove here but use an induction hotplate for a lot of my cooking because it just works better. I also just use a stovetop kettle on it for boiling water, I don't have an electric kettle.

I need a roast but I also can't be fucked going to get ingredients. There lies the dilemma.

YL's Pick Up Service to be engaged?

She hasn't graduated to picking out the perfect piece of meat yet.

It's a good day. The woolies bins were full of tapioca pudding that hadn't even been unpacked, and I've got a party today. Chocolate pudding for all!

I bought a warm milk. Was meant to be a cappuccino but I don't think coffee touched the cup.

I have very possibly found the worst not quite X movie ever. Butch Camp; young Gay guy in denial gets taught straightness by leather Dykes. Too many tropes to count. Hobbits should lock their doors.

I’m off to the market, and then to get my hair cut

I have not been .😞

some christmas decorations are already up in stores. thank goodness halloween exists, as a powerful brick wall to stop the christmacization of wesfarmers and colesworth from occuring even earlier.
