Iirc he said that when he was 17, and within context he meant that Anne Frank now would've, and could've, been a normal girl into normal teenage girl things, saying that the Nazis took not just her life, but her right to a carefree/normal childhood
Holy shit, that was ten years ago. I thought it was much more recent.
