Yamaha’s logo is made of tuning forks!

Literally tuning forks. Since the beginning, actually.

Source: Yamaha.

The 1898 logo was a phoenix with a tuning fork in its mouth.

The first motorcycle made by Yamaha didn’t arrive until nearly 60 years later.

No worries! I double-checked because to me they look like weird tuning forks

[–] brillotti@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yamaha builds things that make noise.

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Even their name is kinda noisy

i've tried saying it without noise and it just doesn't work.

Conglomerates are weird.

Though Hyundai Group is now broken up, its successors (most still named Hyundai something-or-other) do everything: sell insurance, run a department store chain, build cars and ships, refine oil, make semiconductors, and at one time operated tours to Mount Kumgang.

General Electric used to make airplane engines, operate a major financial services business, and also run TV and movie studios.

Swire is involved in the Cathay Pacific airline, and also bottling Coca-Cola.

Peugeot is just a company that can't quite decide what they want to do.
