If you have ever been a troubled teen who was maybe bullied and had dark thoughts of revenge but never ended up hurting anyone (even people that probably deserved it), you may wish to know who tattled on the kid.

Calling it tattling is an attempt to paint the mechanism for reporting in a bad light.

LLMs have a horrible track record of keeping suicidal and homicidal people secret and even dissuading them from seeking help. This is a startup industry with the mentality of move fast and break things. People die and the family just gets paid off in a settlement.

Yes in this case it may have been a prank but AI companies need to find a balance and there needs to be accountability for what their product does to people.

Why are schools allowing access for 13 year olds to any form of CharGPT?

Schools just hand these kids Chromebooks and no supervision and no restrictions other than the most basic porn filters.

I wonder how long it takes to vibe code a porn filter workaround

They could probably just use an AI capable of image generation and just generate AI porn without needing to bypass anything.

You know how porn is bad for kids because it sets up unrealistic expectations for human behavior and relationships? Now its not even humans at all. That must be worse right?

Been 13 myself, first thought kid was just being edgy. He even said so in article. The article explains the overreacting but A Walk to school therapist would be more appropriate.
