My thoughts exactly. It made me happy until I thought about the consequences for the dog.
The dogs deadass need higher rank. Clearly this dog can read a situation better than the current leadership
I thought they just shot citizens' dogs.
If cop 1 punched cop 2 because cop 2 was abusing someone, what do you think would happen to cop 1?
Depends who cop 2 was abusing. Someone politically connected? Cop 1 gets promoted. Average Statesian? Cop 1 loses his job and pension.
The dog should get an officer's usual punishment, and relocate to a new area to work in.

The dog is considered a cop. So in this case, the dog is the good cop.
Only when punishing a suspect who tried to fight the dog. When the handler kills it by leaving it in the hot car, its just a dog.

Most dog cops are too. It isn't their fault, but they're almost universally bad cops, more so than even human cops. Their only job, for the most part, is to make up evidence for bad cops to use to justify arrest/searches/seizures.
