Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

US treasurer says officials looking at drafts for country’s 250th anniversary featuring president with raised fist

To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the US’s independence, the treasury department is mulling production of a $1 coin displaying Donald Trump with a clenched first under an American flag and the words “fight, fight, fight”.

The words overtly reference what Trump said immediately after narrowly surviving an assassination attempt four months before he won a second presidency.

Commemorating his call to commit treason on Jan 6. Wonderful.

What better way to celebrate the 250th anniversary of ditching the old dictator than by celebrating the new one.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss

after narrowly surviving an assassination attempt

Yeah at this point with how weird everything was and how they were purposefully lining up media to take photos, I'm on the side of it being a wrestling-inspired "ketchup packet" move.

Yeah super weird the way that a dude on a stage with a ton of photographers around him has a good photo taken of him. You never see badass photos taken at an nfl game or anything. This is real evidence of a conspiracy.

An NFL game doesn't usually have an active sniper situation happening where the person they're taking a photo of by all means shouldn't be standing up again so the sniper can get another shot off. Nor are they usually shuffled into place by the staff of the person who was shot at for a great photo opportunity.

But sure, let's compare it to something entirely different and not life threatening, that makes sense.

Sure whatever you think.

He is a pedophile, a dictator, a rapist, and a fraud.

These coins will be another shit stain on America.

This is what happens when we fail to educate Americans. School system fell too far behind while the wealthy kept evading taxes

immediately after narrowly surviving an assassination attempt

Nothing narrow about it...

Shot wasn't anywhere near him, he's just on so much blood thinners a tiny scratch bled like crazy

Someone reason his hand turns into a giant bruise from handshakes.

It will be plated in fake gold that flakes off in 6 months and turns your fingers green if you hold it too long.

Preferably out of some sort of device that propels it extremely fast

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 9 points 6 months ago

It sure looked like prearranged acting when trumps ear bled and he stood up and yelled fight (3 times...just like Hitler).

[–] AlecSadler@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 6 months ago

If this happens I will refuse to take it as change

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 8 points 6 months ago

Is he calling us out to fight him? I think I could take him easily.

[–] BoloMKXXVIII@piefed.social 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

As long as the picture shows him behind bars...

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

Or that mug shot. Engrave it with "never surrender"
