No, no, no. The more accurate Dem response is: "guess we're gonna die then."

It's quite literally on the administrations to-do list.

If you're worried about election integrity under the administration, please do volunteer, or work directly for your elections board if you can. We can really use the help, no matter where you are from.

If you have some spare cash, don't be afraid to print out some fact sheets for people to take with them when voting, as long as you don't violate canvassing laws of course.

Don't worry everyone, Chuck Schumer is going to write one of his most strongly worded letters ever.

eyes on the New York mayoral election.

It'll be a prelude to the general election.

And trump is already interfering in that election. and I bet he'll deploy the national guard during the elections. Or straight up jail a candidate.

And major Democratic Party leaders hadn't endorsed Mamdani. The Dems will just play the fiddle while DC burns.

Like in Germany, Italy, and Spain it will not be the Liberals that fight back. Liberals will bend the knee and beg for forgiveness while Social Democrats will protest until the military massacres them all. But it will be the revolutionaries, the Socialists, the Anarchists, and the Communists that will resist.

[–] bizzle@lemmy.world 12 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Then obviously the communists make the anarchists face the wall

[–] Mynameisallen@lemmy.zip 4 points 8 hours ago

Obviously

Then we'll all get lined up and shot by fascists Or just Communists and liberals Who've been waiting all along to become the fascist cops

Wartime measures

He literally mentioned turning the military on cities earlier during the rambling speech he’s giving right now, in between talking about the quality of paper he likes and complaining about not getting a Nobel prize, because people are apparently shooting firefighters off ladders.

The Time to Move Forward Is Now

Ah, 2021. A time of triumph and jubilation. Democrats coming together and saying "We won last time so now we'll never lose again" and proceeding to write the opposition party off as toothless has-beens. What a magical moment for our country.

Why can't we go back to brunch? I think the real reason is because leftist voters stabbed us all in the back. So we just need to pivot further to the Right if we want to reclaim our beautiful brunch-time again.

[–] ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works 12 points 9 hours ago

leftist voters stabbed us all in the back.

Victory was assured! It is the only explanation!

[–] catsarebadpeople@sh.itjust.works 27 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

The Democrats forced Trump to do all this. They're the real bad guys!

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 10 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

The Democrats forced Trump to do all this.

The Democrats helped Trump do all this.

[–] catsarebadpeople@sh.itjust.works 6 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Almost as much as protests voters helped Trump do all this. Almost as much as the both sides are the same rhetoric helped Trump do all this.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

protests voters

Which state flipped based on protest voters?

[–] catsarebadpeople@sh.itjust.works 0 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Do you have a source that shows protest voters didn't have any impact?

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

At least as much evidence as you have that they did.

[–] catsarebadpeople@sh.itjust.works 2 points 28 minutes ago

How many voters voted in 2020 compared to 2024?

[–] Distoorted@lemmy.world 10 points 13 hours ago

sheesh, literally the point my dad made yesterday unironically 😔

[–] wildncrazyguy138@fedia.io 32 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Totally on board with your premise, they do need to punch up as much as they can. And it looks like they’re trying to do so this round of shutdowns.

Nonetheless, this ultimately comes down to us. All of us. We can’t just sit here behind a computer and meme ourselves out of this disaster. We have to get out in the streets. We have to yell get mad and be angry. We have to hit them where they feel it. We have to organize. Get with upset farmers, get with the military vets whose benefits have been cut, get with the middleclass milquetoast moms who are starting to feel like something isn’t right with their grocery bills.

Each and every individual one of us is a single drop in the ocean, but, if we all move in the same direction, we become a crashing tsunami.

I'm Canadian, you guys should have been doing this since Regan, but better late than never I suppose

[–] InputZero@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

The pot says to the kettle.

Never said we're blameless but we did manage to avoid electing maple flavored trump even once, nevermind twice

[–] vala@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Oh shut up haha. The CA government is headed down the same path last time I checked. Fuckin America Lite up there.

[–] AFallingAnvil@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

Yeah, kinda wish you guys hadn't decided to export your particular brand of capitalistic rot by osmosis. Our mistake was integrating with you guys as a policy and when the move was made outspoken politicians called it for what it was.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 8 points 12 hours ago

Keep it up and y'all are gonna make Hank Johnson bust out his guitar again.

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 5 points 14 hours ago

Seems like link to Trump's declaration should have hit my front page before the reaction. link? I could only find month old references, not that "jokes aren't the plan"
