Posting AI output in here almost feels like cheating.

This seems like a common opinion. I'll hold a poll sometime to decide if this should be added as a rule

Yeah wouldn't that be software_gore?

Poll is up. If you'd like, pls vote.

Today my lecturer, whose English is very bad, pronounced "c" in "artificial" as a "k" and it sounded like "arti-fecal". And I thought Lemmy would love the term "artifecal intelligence".

Well you were absolutely correct. This gets the Lemmy stamp of approval.

That could be the name of a community about bad ai responses

Don't you have moths to be posting about?

[–] SnokenKeekaGuard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 25 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Oh my god you have one hell of a memory 😂😂.

That's behind me ... For now

you're forever tagged as "wants big tiddy moth gf", for me.

We shall watch your shitposting career with great interest.

Well I absolutely stand by my statement!

big tiddy moth gf

I am the lightbringer to my big tiddy moth gf

A shame to hear that you've abandoned the way of the moth.

I would NEVER! It shall return next July.

[–] AnarchistArtificer@slrpnk.net 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Oh damn, you're the moth person. I am bad at names, so I didn't remember. I really appreciated that silly period — I have a friend who likes moths, and they were delighted at all the moth memes I was sending them.

Haha thank you

Happy to spread moths

Dates are always a bit of fun with computers but i thought AI would be able to replace the senior developer who knows how to handle dates? Evidently not. Have I been mislead by tech leaders?

Surely not???

[–] apotheotic@beehaw.org 9 points 1 month ago

I've never enjoyed a date with a computer, they always want me to pay for the bill even though they ordered the expensive food

It's just being too tedious and not asking another question. If you asked about how many years you'd probably get 15 years and an explanation on how it could be 14 yrs and "x" months.

I think LLM generated aneurysms should be banned, because they spew nonsense all the time.

[–] Nomad 8 points 1 month ago

Akschually... Lets assume the LLM interprets an event being x years ago as the moment of conclusion of the event. Which would be the 31.12.2015 which is in fact not yet 10 years ago.

I could not reproduce this on DDG, it just says "Yes, 2010 was 15 years ago from today, September 29, 2025."

[–] krooklochurm@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 month ago

It's pretty sophisticated but the math checks out.

[–] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

AI also feeling that existential angst of time.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 4 points 1 month ago

I wonder if it's getting caught up in the use of "was" assuming it's supposed to be referencing a past time for the question, as in: was 2010 15 years ago (as of some point previous to now)
