"You remind me of Buddy. He gets that same look in his eye, right when he finds the right spot to take a dump. You're gonna go far, kid, we're taking you to the park after this!"

Junior dev shat their pants.

That's like a rite of passage

There’s no such thing as a junior dev. I remember looking at the job listings at some huge company. Like 5-7 years ago. They had dozens and dozens of senior dev positions and that was it.

There is, but once in a while you need some person that knows what they're doing. Those positions tend to stay open longer because they can't find the guy they're looking for. Junior Dev position gets bombarded with applications in any second of the day.

That’s the joke, yes. Thank you for explaining it. One problem is that software development is not a real profession, so it’s a free for all nightmare.

Also, it’s not once in a while; I’m telling you that I’ve seen trillions of senior positions and a handful of junior or trainee positions.

Yes that was the joke, you always need someone that knows what they're doing or your business is operating on fraud.

Your comment makes no sense.

I know it is not once in a while, it's the joke I made.

Just maintain eye contact whilst you drop trou and shit in your chair. It’s a sign of solidarity and the least you can do.

You guys do production deployments during office hours?

[–] ksh@aussie.zone 35 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Only on a Friday after 4:59pm

[–] PhobosAnomaly@feddit.uk 35 points 2 days ago

You can generally tell how well a push has gone by looking at your phone at 9pm on the Friday nights.

If there's no missed calls, it's gone well.

If there's two or three figures worth of missed calls, then it's gone really well and it's just been people wanting to congratulate you on how well it's gone.

Either way, a Monday task.

"The desire of the IT staff to have a free weekend motivates for less buggy code. That is why we deploy friday afternoon"

Some economist probably.

In the first half I was thinking there's no way this would actually be said by anyone in a company, how could this even make sense, then you got me in the last line, thst would actually be said by someone in a company.

It's a shit joke but damn it's funny

[–] Karryp_17@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

😂 That’s hilarious but also kinda true if you think about it. Do you reckon memes sometimes capture reality better than news headlines?
