The comments here ought to be fun. What a shitshow we have made of this planet.

Talk about a poisoned gift...

Nobody wants gifts from Israel, but Ukraine desperately needs the hardware.
Damned if they do, damned if they don't...

Honestly I’d rather Ukraine have them than Israel. Am I supposed to be mad that they’ve micro-disarmed by doing this? Fuck no that’s a bit less firepower in Israel’s hands

Keep going! We love your charity Israel, give it ALL to Ukraine! 🥴

Did you really delude yourself into thinking that this makes a difference?

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 1 points 5 hours ago

No, but I didn’t delude myself into thinking it matters either, and now somehow because Ukraine has weapons that Israel didn’t use in their genocide they’ve got cooties or something.

People in here like “Now Ukraine is guilty by association! Tainted morals! Blood on their hands!” - it doesn’t matter.

Now, what’s fucked up, who does have blood on their hands, is the United Ststes who are obviously going to resupply Israel.

But that doesn’t make Ukraine guilty.

This is not a "poisoned gift". I would argue it's inappropriate to use the term in this context.

We don't have any other option. Considering the situation it would be absurd to not accept the Patriot systems. Hopefully the PAC-2's will be upgraded by the Americans to newer variants to better deal will "regular" ballistic missiles and the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles.

For real, who can judge them for this

Netanyahu is very friendly with Putin. I don't know if I would trust that gift personally.

I expect that that means that Israel isn't too worried about incoming ballistic missiles from Iran at this point, or they'd probably be hanging onto it.

More likely that the batteries are outdated for their standards.

and/or they want field data from the real world conditions they're being used in.
