The 5.56 is for firing ballistically-matched tracers for sighting in. /credible
EDIT: it actually fucking isn't and they built this as a sort of proto-OICW. Never got beyond two prototypes because even the Swedes thought it was demented.
I keep trying to justify the thinking by relating it to fears about the BMP, but no matter which way you slice it this is so much sillier than adopting or copying the already existing M72 and widely distributing it for platoon/squad level, lightweight, firstline IFV killing.
I swear to god some underhive ganger in Necromunda has one of these, it's just bolted together out of pipes

Could be justified if the back of the tube was the stock.
