Now that I don't have the looming deadline of an assignment to avoid I've started my cross stitch again. One of the kits is on black fabric and is counted instead of printed directly on the fabric so I can only manage short bursts when there is not too much distraction and I am not too tired. I'm just about at the point it needs to go away and I'll work on the easier one instead for a while. The easy one also has the advantage that it involves cats.

what you can also do is make a grid pattern of ten squares by ten squares with a single white thread , remove white thread when finished
That would be the ideal conditions, but I have the cross stitch for an activity for work when there is not much happening - especially on night shifts. I'm thinking of taking in a little usb lamp I have with a bendy neck and adjustable brightness and light tone, it should make it a lot easier.
