I just tried upgrading it, and my armor value did rise, So it looks like it's only a visual bug... :-)

you have other armor buffs that are applied to your current piece of cyberware, but not the new piece. at worst, there won't be a change in armor.

kinda doubt this is the case. I also have similar weirdness on most cyberware, not all. And after "upgrading" it is just as presented on the right when equipped. So, if this was the case, then perks/bonuses just stop working on it entirely, OR the "upgrade" is actually a downgrade, which to me seems like the more probable explanation.

edit: though, seems to be the case for OP. Odd. Wonder what's my deal then :/

I've had a component with +2.4% damage that went to +1.6% when upgraded. I decided to save scum and never upgrade it again.

Don't know if it's actually lowered, suspect that the actual values increase. Had similar issues, but I upgraded anyway, as I'm already basically a netrunner god so it doesn't matter.
