This a Community dedicated to the discussion of how to protect, advocate for, and restore LGBTQ rights!
With the rampant increase of Anti LGBTQ+ hate crimes, speech and laws internationally, the LGBTQ community globally no longer feels safe.
We refuse to stand by while injustice against our community reigns.

Respect the people who belong here. If you're confused what that means, here's a minor primer:
No asking to date trans people or otherwise meet up with them. No treating being transgender as a mental illness or as being lesser in any way. No arguing with trans people about their identity. No arguing with trans people about their vulnerabilities, including anything related to sports, laws, etc. This includes anything else that the mod team deems disrespectful.
- Stay on topic!
Posts should be related to the defense, advocacy, and restoration of LGBTQ+ rights.
This Community is for news regarding, as well as the discussion of, anti LGBTQ+ laws, hate crimes, and propaganda.

According to an April 2024 Sacramento Bee profile of the former UC Davis staffer, Bourne became one of California’s most vocal anti-trans activists in the years since her eldest child came out first as trans and later as nonbinary.
What a shit parent. How can you hate your kid this much?
My kid could come out as trans-martian and I would rock a proud parent shirt saying that.
Sadly, in our experience, a lot of parents don't want children to be themselves, they want them to be mini them.

Religious nutjobs and conservatives of all stripes seem to have an unhealthy obsession with the contents of other people's pants.
And what they do with them. I’ve heard more about anal sex from homophobes than I’ve ever heard from gay men.
In February 2024, she reportedly went undercover as nonbinary to “expose” best practices at a gender-affirming care clinic associated with UC Davis.

Thankfully her trans child is in a university in another state where they don't have to deal with her in their face all the time anymore.
This feels almost like Munschausen-by-proxy where she's seeking attention for HERSELF by claiming there's something wrong with trans people and by extension her kid.
Ugh, I guess it's a reminder to other trans/queer/nonbinary etc kids in hateful families, do whatever you need to do in order to survive until you can escape.
In October 2023, local news station ABC 10 reported that the Davis Joint Unified School District filed for a temporary restraining order against Bourne following a spate of bomb threats to local schools, libraries, and even the homes of educators.

Trans kids are super cool people! This "activist" is super creepy!! Call for recess was warranted. Hope they got tossed out of that meeting and then some.
