A week from now, he'll blame Ukraine again. Two weeks from now, he'll say it was Biden's fault the Russians invaded Ukraine. Three weeks from now, he'll say it's Obama's fault Ukraine invaded Russia. In a month, he'll say Ukraine belongs to Russia. In six weeks, he'll say he solved the war between Ukraine and Russia and deserves a Nobel Prize.

So it took that dumb fuck 9 months to realize that Putin's the bad guy, Ukraine isn't to blame for being invaded and that Western support could win this war?

Imagine how many lives would have been saved if he'd just listened to every goddamn adult in the previous administration.

You're operating under the assumption that Trump's changed his mind.

When it is far more likely that he's recently just read that on a slip of paper (and probably misunderstood it), so it's just the crap on the top of the stack of crap in his mind and it pops off first.

Some poor bastard had to setup a presentation designed to keep 4 yr olds paying attention and adapt it to trump's narcissist. "Sir, Ukraine is getting stronger, getting more money, and WILL win. Russia is low rent, weak and broke. LOSERS! Back Ukraine and you will not only WIN bigly, but will be known forever as the man who singlehandedly ended this war and saved Europe.

And this would 100% work. On a supposed world leader. 🫠

I think it took 9 months for Putin's checks to stop clearing.

Putin used to pay trump when he helped to launder money. Now he uses the fact that Trump helped him launder money as blackmail.

Honestly, I don't think him making this public would damage Trump at all. The people who would care are already angry about a million other things.

Pretty sure he could say that he knew Putin put the effort forward to get him elected in 2016 because he would be a better help to Russia and would hurt relations with the west and a lot of people would immediately say it was the right thing to do just because he did it.

[–] Serinus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Maybe they've realized both that and that he doesn't need Putin's money anymore.

Between the two, Putin can now go fuck himself. Trump isn't loyal to anyone and never pays his debts.

When you rake in a few billion off of a state-sponsored crypto scam, apparently you can be financially independent.

Putin's made it clear that Trump doesn't call the shots in their relationship. Trump's ego can't handle that, so now Putin is his enemy. We've been seeing Trump slowly figure this out over the course of the year, starting from him saying he could end the war in, what did he say, a week? He clearly wasn't let in on the invasion plan, either because he can't keep his mouth shut or because Putin thought the war would be over before the election.

Of course, with how senile he's becoming and his probable recent stroke, it's unclear if this will stick or he'll forget about it in a day or two.

[–] flightyhobler@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

what did he say, a week?

24 hours.

[–] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

He'll charge his mind by the end of the week

[–] Samskara@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

Trump is starting to realize that his great personal relationship with Putin doesn’t help at all.

[–] ZoteTheMighty@lemmy.zip 15 points 1 day ago (2 children)

We just gotta convince Trump that he'd be SO COOL if he helped Ukraine win thr war, like SO COOL!

All you have to do is help Ukraine win the war Mr Pedo...err Mr president and people will stop calling you out for being a pedophile!

[–] slaneesh_is_right@lemmy.org 1 points 1 day ago

A child fucker would never help ukraine. Only a cool strong boy would.

[–] nkat2112@sh.itjust.works 24 points 2 days ago

TACO Tuesday, folks!

[–] modernangel@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 day ago

Could flip-flop again tomorrow. Don't believe anything from the regime packed with con-artists and criminal predators until it's signed, sealed, delivered and paid.

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

Good, but It's never really been up to to him

[–] 30p87@feddit.org 7 points 2 days ago

Win? In his casino? That he ran into the ground?

[–] Jolly_Platypus@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He's finally figured out there's no way Russia can win this war and he wants to come in and claim all the credit for it when Ukraine wins.

[–] LastYearsIrritant@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 day ago

No, it's cause he talked most recently with Zelenskyy.

Once he has a 5 minute conversation with putin, it'll be back to the "Ukraine just needs to stop fighting back and everything will be ok."

Whoever the last person that tells him he's a special boy says, is what he repeats.

[–] Novamdomum@fedia.io 5 points 2 days ago

Maybe it's just all these years being stuck in this darkest timeline, but all that headline translates to in my mind is "Trump decides Putin is weak enough for him to have a go at re-negotiating his pee-pee tape deal with him". Putin will either push back or fold and when he does then Trump will just "change his mind about Ukraine" again. So to summarise... meh.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Demented credulous fuckwit just repeats the last thing somebody told him.

He wants his name to be in the rubber stamp of everything.

It won’t be Bidens or the democrats aid that helped Ukraine, it will be trumps aid.

If if (when) Ukraine does come out ahead and the war is won or whatever, trumps name will be all over it.

That’s how he sees it.

And then he can get his prize.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Trump wouldn't release COVID aid checks unless his name was stamped on them.
