Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Trump supporters cycled through increasingly desperate explanations for why the Jimmy Kimmel situation was totally legitimate. First came the absurd “low ratings” defense—because sure, …

You can always assume Taco supporters are lying.

But yeah, they have been full of shit for a very long time on how "censored" they are, LOL.

Also, I really wish people would squelch the misuse of the term "skeptics" when we are talking about conspiracy theorist denialists, full stop.

I mean, whatever. Confederates start with the desired outcome they want and then work backwards from that to justify it. They're always consistent in their mind, because to them consistency is how they feel about the outcome. It doesn't matter to them that they have no internal consistency between each justification. They just want to impose their will or, if necessary, make you let them have their way.

To say it bluntly, it's the mindset of a child.

Except that’s just factually wrong, as even a basic understanding of linear time (let alone a simple fact check) would have determined. Donald Trump was banned from most platforms on January 7th and 8th in 2021. When DONALD TRUMP WAS PRESIDENT, not Joe Biden.

It's still funny when MAGA butches about something, And then it turn out trump was president when it happened.

Almost like they don't give a single fuck about the truth.

I actually think this point is fairly weak. The inauguration of Biden was so imminent that one could easily imagine coercion happening based on the imminent force of government Biden would soon possess.

I’m not saying that did happen but it’s conceivable that it could.

Conservatives say stuff for effect, not because they believe in truth or consistency. They are dishonest, broken, people. They should not be trusted.

I saw people claiming Roseanne was fired from her show due to pressure from the Obama administration..........in 2018 when Trump was president

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

These are not serious nor intelligent people.

Good old joke - how do you know a Republican is lying? Their lips are moving

[–] primrosepathspeedrun@anarchist.nexus 20 points 2 days ago (2 children)

That's not true; some of them learned how to type.

[–] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 18 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I bet their mouths move while they type.

I hadn't thought of that.

how do you know their lips don’t move

The wild justifications for defending his ousting is more telling than anything.

Like, literally quoting him saying he supports free speech. But hate speech should not be condoned. Still true.

The sensationalist headlines which have lied about him talking about Charlie Kirk in any capacity, rather than Charlie Kirk simply being tangentially related.

The comparison to people being fired for actual hate speech targeting people, usually after given multiple chances to stop inciting harassment and violence.

Reminding everyone that he lampooned blackface.

Reminding everyone that he was on The Man Show.

They used a lot of time and energy on some words and a video that were in no way controversial.

When they bring up Murthy v. Missouri it's always good to remind them what the Supreme Court said.

To establish standing, the plaintiffs must demonstrate a substantial risk that, in the near future, they will suffer an injury that is traceable to a government defendant and redressable by the injunction they seek. Because no plaintiff has carried that burden, none has standing to seek a preliminary injunction.

MAGA lies about everything or are too stupid to know what the truth is. Cult shit.
