A gluten-free, cow's milk-free, soy-free, refined sugar-free and seed oil-free cracker, with the fat and emulsion coming from beef tallow (seed oils have high amounts of linoleic acid, which is horrible for everyone). I'd use goat's milk for something (if I wanted something creamy), or use that and find a good recipe for a goat's milk cream cheese that I'd spread on said crackers.

Cinnamon rolls with apple pie filling.

[–] Nemo@slrpnk.net 11 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Beloved child of God, have you never had an apple fritter?

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

❤️fritters.

[–] bizarroland@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Fritters are fried, cinnamon rolls are baked.

Also, fritters typically have a sugary coating whereas cinnamon rolls have cream cheese coating on them.

Very similar, but also very different.

Addendum, if you put buttercream icing on a cinnamon roll, you deserve to go to the seventh circle of hell.

Also, cinnamon rolls have raisins in them.

but what a way to go!

Something in that "crunchy outside / chewy inside" lane like cacahuates japoneses or Nerds gummy clusters or Mentos, for sure. But ideally with the flavor of eggs on toast.

Haha, reminds me of that Peruvian snack "canchas," which is like baked or fried extra-large corn kernals. Super crunchy and delicious, but I'm not sure if they're best for one's health, plus they can be a bit bland in taste for visitors, yadda-yadda.

EDIT: Oh, right, dammit. There's indeed a version in the USA called "Corn Nuts," yeah?

[–] Nemo@slrpnk.net 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Except corn nuts tend to be so seasoned they contain 1000% of your daily sodium.

True dat!

Like, "amor culpabilis" in very action. 😅

Canchitas are awesome! You get a little ramikin at Peruvian restaurants like you might get chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant.

Armadillos!

Something that tastes like chocolate but is healthy.

Okay you got me there, i was more thinking of milk chocolate lol

Basically chocolate with all the good stuff only found in veggies

[–] Flocklesscrow@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Bite sized chicken pot pies

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago

Oh wow I love this idea.

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Like a mini hot pocket or more like an arancini?

[–] Flocklesscrow@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 weeks ago

Like an amuse bouche

[–] LadyButterfly@reddthat.com 5 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Chocolate covered pringles. They'd be amazing

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I bet they would be. Or just dip one end like those French cookies?

[–] LadyButterfly@reddthat.com 3 points 2 weeks ago

I like this idea

[–] Quetzalcutlass@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

They exist! I don't know if Pringles makes any themselves, but there are a bunch of copycat brands that sell them that you can find online.

They're... okay. The coating completely overwhelms the chip so it mostly just tastes like salted chocolate. Not bad, but nowhere near worth what they charge for the things.

[–] LadyButterfly@reddthat.com 2 points 2 weeks ago

Oh interesting! If they're underwhelming I might stick to eating pringles at the same time

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Something with the consistency of a chocolate bar, so that you can melt and pour on other food, that tastes like garlic bread with cheese

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Garlic butter. You've invented garlic butter.

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

brb, patenting my new invention :D

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

I hope you make a brazillion bucks!

[–] Binzy_Boi@piefed.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago

Deep-fried freezies.

[–] Obi@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 weeks ago

The definition of snack is so wide, I'm pretty sure most of us invent snacks regularly.

[–] ptc075@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I've never liked S'mores. Yeah, I know, marshmellow just isn't my thing. But it feels to me like there ought to be a Graham cracker + chocolate + peanut or peanut butter combo out there that would synergize with sitting around a campfire. I've just never figured it out. Best I can come up with is peanut butter on Graham crackers dipped in chocolate fondue.

I will join you in the peanut butter. I like smores but chocolate and peanut butter is far superior

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Itt a bunch of people learning about things that exist, and it's great!

[–] quinkin@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

Like a soup dumplings but it's ramen.
