Israel is not interested in waging a war on two fronts, in particular with the Hezbollah movement, and does not intend to aggravate the situation on the Lebanese-Israeli border unless the Shiite movement itself does so, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said on Sunday.

He noted that Israel would "respect the situation along the border" if Hezbollah "does not intervene in the conflict."

FBI notes increase in threats against Jewish and Muslim communities

FBI officials say they’ve noticed an increase in threatening rhetoric targeting both the Jewish and Muslim communities in the week since the brutal Hamas attacks in Israel.

Director Chris Wray said on a call with reporters Sunday that the FBI is moving quickly to mitigate the threats and that the FBI does not discount the possibility that Hamas and other groups could exploit the conflict in the Middle East to call for or plot attacks in the United States.

A senior FBI official who spoke on condition of anonymity under ground rules set by the bureau said the majority of the threats that the FBI has responded to were not judged to be credible. But the official said the FBI takes them all seriously nonetheless.

Besides responding to an escalating number of threats, Wray said the FBI was also working through its legal attache office in Tel Aviv to do what it can to locate and identify Americans who remain unaccounted for after last weekend’s attacks.

Been looking at historical statistics of how populations become socialist leaning and how life expectancy is correlated to it. By eyeballing it, I've determined a strong correlation of sustained (30+ years of it) life expectancies of 35-50 years resulting in political change or revolution towards socialism.

Obviously non-related fact: transgender people on average have a life expectancy of 35 in the USA. Black trans people have a life expectancy of 25. Many areas of the south are approaching the cool zone on average. Reservations have been there for a long time. If other countries are a signifiers of a trend, large segments of the American south will experience significant turmoil and partial revolutions within 10-40 years even in white areas.

To note: many parts of Cuba had high life expectancies, but the rural mountainous areas fell in with Castro due to sustained life expectancy issues. I would posit that as new generations are born into this life expectancy issue we will see some extreme shifts.

The Syrian defence ministry says Israel has launched an air strike against the international airport in Aleppo, which has put it out of service.

This is the statement it gave to Reuters:

"The Israeli enemy carried out an air attack from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea, west of Latakia, targeting Aleppo International Airport, which led to material damage to the airport and it being out of service," the ministry said.

This is not the first time the airport has been hit. Two days ago, Syria's state media reported Israeli forces had launched "simultaneous" missile strikes on two main airports in Aleppo and Damascus.

The attack damaged both runways and put both hubs out of service.

The strikes on the airports are intended to disrupt Iranian supply lines to Syria, a source told Reuters.

The Israeli military has not commented on the strikes, but earlier said that two rockets had been launched from Syria toward Israeli territory that "fell in an open area".

"No interceptors were activated according to protocol," the IDF said of that incident.
