Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Two psychologists are warning that President Donald Trump’s frequent confusion and mounting physical issues may be pointing to something more troubling than just aging. On their podcast Shrinking Trump, psychologists John Gartner and Harry Segal argued that the 79-year-old president is showing both physical and linguistic symptoms of what they call “early dementia.”

Seems pretty clear he's been having TIAs, which greatly increase the odds of a CVA!

Champaign stocks are going to go through the roof. Get in early.

[–] Ioughttamow@fedia.io 2 points 1 day ago

But only like halfway. Continue on for a while as a drooling imbecile(lol), preferably all on camera

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What do psychologists have to do with this?

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca -1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Good point. They are not qualified. Psychology is not medicine, and it certainly is not science.

On the other hand, none of this is true and the "psychologists" are just bad guessers. Any real news out there or just made up scenarios?

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 8 points 1 day ago

He's just working Dreamotely.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Trump is the same age Biden was in 2021.

Just sayin'.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 11 points 1 day ago

It wasn't normal when he was awake

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

He hasn't been normal at any time of his life

[–] But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I hate trump and all, but Tbf that’s the same face my dad makes when he’s falling asleep during a movie, it’s just being old

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Does your dad have control of nukes?

Only on taco night

[–] thesohoriots@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Keep tossing leaves in the pool, Nancy.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Hopefully soon Donny has one of those long naps, in the ground, in a box, under a golf course.

[–] WhatGodIsMadeOf@feddit.org 6 points 1 day ago

[–] Corelli_III@midwest.social 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

But you won't believe who SLAMS him next!

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He looks so much less evil when he's asleep. Still super evil, just less.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

I never want to see that

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 5 points 1 day ago

This is what happens after you become a liability and then have a private meeting with Putin where you drink or eat anything in a 10 mile radius.

[–] crystalmerchant@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

It's totally normal, dumbass. He's an old person and we only have old people for senior political leaders, apparently

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If medical professionals are giving their expert advice to the Grim Reaper, is Las Vegas placing bets as to where he will eventually kick the bucket? In the golf cart, teeing off, during a meeting, etc...

[–] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Unless he gets shot first, he's dying peacefully in his sleep within the next 3 years, never seeing due consequences for his many atrocities. Maybe there's a slight chance he'll fall down the stairs or have a very public stroke, and holy shit I hope not because wild conspiracy theories about a Havana syndrome type woke commie laser beam assassination would spread like trump's syphilis.

I'm thinking heart failure in office, but I bet he goes through 2 or 3 donor hearts before he dies faster than they can get a new one in him.
