"It's not cancel culture when we do it."

The only moral cancel culture is my cancel culture.

[–] vala@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 13 hours ago

We've received over 150,000 site submissions in the past 24 hours. We need 50 - 100 volunteers to help us verify and publish. In addition, thousands of people are trying to destroy the site with abuse complaints, DDoS attempts, bot farm spam emails, and more. If you can help us verify submissions, please message us on the SUPPORT tab. Thank you.

RIP

Lmao so glad I work in an industry that wouldn't give a flying fuck if I danced on that Nazis grave. It would actually provide quite joy to watch them screech over failing to try to get me fired haha.

[–] Grazed@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

Which industry is that?

[–] FundMECFS@anarchist.nexus 9 points 13 hours ago (1 children)
[–] pastaq@lemmy.world 7 points 2 hours ago

Send them emails titled "this guy is really harming the reputation of Charlie Kirk" with links to clips of Charlie Kirk.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 8 points 14 hours ago

Sounds like a lot of companies are going to lose their best workers and those workers are going to leave a job that never gave them a raise and find a job paying them 1/3 more than they were making.

[–] drmoose@lemmy.world 6 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Anyone has a link? I only see cancel hate related to holocaust denial.

Would be a shame if someone went to that website and wasted nazi's time.

[–] drmoose@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago

lmao ads and donation begging everywhere for what basically is google forms front-end. The grift just never stops with these cockroaches.

[–] skisnow@lemmy.ca 36 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Most of the hate seems to involve just quoting things he's publicly said.

[–] ArmchairAce1944@discuss.online 20 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Because the truth hurts: Charlie Kirk was a sack of shit whose entire livelihood and career revolved around spreading hate and facilitating violence.

[–] LoafedBurrito@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Buh buh buh , his wife and kids!!! He was a religious man and was bringing back faith!!!

No he was a radical right wing racist who got famous by being hateful and spreading lies and propaganda. Most of the world didn't even know he had a family, so it's irrelevant at this point.

[–] ArmchairAce1944@discuss.online 7 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I hate the 'he had a family' line. Does that mean killing single men and women or people who never married makes it somehow OK? Like if Charlie Kirk was both single and celibate and said he was 'married to his principles and mission' (with no indication of being a closeted gay man or asexual) would that have made his murder more acceptable?

Countless evil people were married and had kids. Stalin was known to be a doting father. Saddam was also known by his children as a very kind and affectionate father. Roy de Mayo, one of the most infamous mafia hitmen, had a family and his family life was so quiet and unremarkable that his children had absolutely no idea whatsoever that their father killed people for a living (and his son had a nervous breakdown when he saw the movie Murder Machine in the early 90s, which was about his then dead dad).

[–] Whats_your_reasoning@lemmy.world 1 points 15 minutes ago

Agreed. Besides, if these people were concerned with what their children thought, they should've factored that in when making their decisions. The truth can't hide forever (in the case of that last story), and the others (including Kirk) made their awful words and deeds public. If they never stopped to think, "What would my kids have to say about what I'm doing?" then why should it suddenly be our concern?

Sorry your daddy was a piece of shit that didn't care about the legacy or how it would reflect back on his children, but there's no whitewashing what he publically stood for.

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 4 points 15 hours ago

Well, in all fairness, that's pretty extreme stuff to repeat.

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 54 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Their entire party is now built on hate. These people will sacrifice anything to support their hate. They are literally using hateful actions to support the memory of a hateful person. It's just hate all the way down.

[–] Zink@programming.dev 4 points 14 hours ago

This is absolutely true, and the craziest part is that half of them don't even know they're supporting bad stuff (they think they are good people, but they are hopelessly ignorant and passively racist with no desire to change) while almost none of them seem to realize that they are the ones making themselves miserable all the damn time. (speaking from my personal experiences/acquaintances)

Hate and negativity in every little nook and cranny of life. The kind of thing that makes people into dangerous and aggressive drivers when they are in no hurry to get anywhere.

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)

These are the people who hung effigies of Obama being lynched in their trees.

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 18 points 1 day ago (5 children)

I still don't get how there are so many of them. It takes so much emotional energy to be that angry.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 6 points 1 day ago

its extremely stressful, also its an addiction to.

We hanged people like Charlie Kirk at Nuremberg. He didn't deserve to be assassinated, but Kirk did deserve a life sentence in prison for crimes against humanity and incitement to genocide.

[–] HexesofVexes@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

Sounds to me like a site called "historyofhate" should be founded and every hateful comment said about everyone by anyone should be created and made searchable ^_^

[–] Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works 76 points 1 day ago (7 children)

Wait, so cancelling is good now? Dear MAGA, please make up your fucking minds.

And, y'know, grow a spine.

[–] skisnow@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 hours ago

This is a lot more sinister than “cancel culture”. Cancel culture was when someone with a platform expressed a bigoted opinion, gained a lot of attention, and caused a backlash.

What these people are doing is actively and openly organising to encourage others to seek out, denounce and victimize anyone anywhere who doesn’t toe the line. It’s a modern-day Stasi.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 51 points 1 day ago

Patiently waiting for consistency from Republicans

[–] jjagaimo@sh.itjust.works 24 points 1 day ago

Old news: the "fuck your feelings" crowd operates entirely based on feelings and not facts. Truth will be distorted to keep them from feeling shame or humiliation

Pro tip: Nobody has to joke about his death.

In fact, we can all be in support of his message: that gun deaths are "worth it", including his. 💁‍♂️

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 24 points 1 day ago (4 children)

the thing is, joking about his ironic death is the most fair game thing there is, as it has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you liked or disliked him, or agreed or disagreed with his messages

You know, there was a couple of authoritarians that used tattling to suppress dissent.

The USSR and Nazi Fucking Germany. And CCP.

That's where we are now. We're ruled by children.

This is what happens when children gain power.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago

This is what happens when children ignore the elephant in the room and refuse to vote or can't rub a few brain cells together to determine why voting 3rd party in a presidential election is meaningless.

We can flood these reports with ai generated ones.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 31 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Sounds like just the kind of place that we definitely shouldn't flood with false reports.

[–] Wiz@midwest.social 2 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

I assume you mean false reports about prominent Republicans or known supporters

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago

That would be an absolutely awful thing to do, and you totally shouldn't.

What a fucking joke!!! Bring all the hate and get the hate back in the neck! Fuck Kirk and all his hate! Try to fire me! lol! I dare you!

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 39 points 1 day ago (3 children)

So the plan is to identify people who find joy in the appropriate treatment of a fascist and then get them fired from their jobs. Some will take it on the chin and move on, sure, but others might find a bunch of new free time in their schedules plus a fresh axe to grind and decide they have nothing left to lose. Couldn't possibly backfire.

Cancel the Hate

How weird is it that your group is named after what happened.

[–] WanderingThoughts@europe.pub 20 points 1 day ago (2 children)

They're a lot more salty since the whole Herman Cain award thing.

[–] Wiz@midwest.social 4 points 13 hours ago

I'm expecting a Charlie Kirk tweet any day now supporting gun rights.

Someone should stand up another site to catalog all the hateful things their own kind are saying about everyone else.

[–] Hector@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

There are several already.

I think rightwingwatch is one.

[–] JackFrostNCola@aussie.zone 9 points 1 day ago

Dude, twitter is already a thing.

[–] Frog@lemmy.ca 27 points 1 day ago

More like Cancel the Truth.

I don't really see much hate on the people they are DOXing.
