No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

It's amazing people here advocating for political assassinations, while in their next breath decrying authoritarianism; doing their best to suppress information used to help catch murderers.

What happens when the system breaks down an political assassination becomes the norm? The most violent political party wins. That is what happens.

Go ahead and provide some statistics on how many lemmy users are actively advocating for political assassinations. I can point you to the post where we have prominent conservative leaders advocating for political violence, oh and we can visit r/conservative over at reddit too because, whew, talk about some advocating violence, damn.

As for you whole decrying authoritarianism, one can point out how Kash M. Money is a overtly partisan and non-trustworthy, incompetent actor that will push his and Republicans political view in regardless of the facts of the case to blame the left. Something that he's made clear he would use the office for, punishing political enemies with or without evidence.

So no, I'm not going to help out a fascist bad actor in any case including this one because I 100% do not believe that he will use the information in good faith. Also, I did my part because I have no clue who this guy is.

And as for your question/statement about the most violent political party is also a bunch of BS considering, again, I can point you to a party that's actively and publicly calling for "war" against the left for "avenging" one of their own with absolutely no proof of the motivations of the suspect.

ETA: law enforcement apparently pushed a bulletin containing false information that the bullets had trans and anti-facist sentiments etched into them to journalists. So yeah, about that whole trust the federal agencies to investigate here.

You're not wrong, but you're ignoring the fact, that that's where we are. The system has broken down. Political hits are the norm now. The most violent party will win, and arguably has already won. I don't want violence anymore than the next person, but misrepresentation, violent rhetoric, and easy access to firearms have brought us to this point. The only thing that people are angry about, is the left started shooting back. You can only fire so many shots before people start feeling like they have nothing to lose. And that's where we are.

I'll be fair and add more details.

It's a (presumably) white cis dude wearing a ballcap, dark sunglasses, and a black shirt with the American flag printed on it. That should narrow it down quite a bit.

I'd still highly doubt anything they find or come up with.

The pressure to get an arrest and conviction means whoever gets nabbed is still just an innocent scape goat.

Hope the jury understands that and votes appropriately.

I don't need to look at the photo. I've never seen him before in my life. Oh sure, he killed someone but tRump has done far worse. Musk has done far worse. RFK has done far worse. ICE has done far worse. SCOTUS has done far worse. The GOP has done far worse. When thousands die because tRump took their Medicaid insurance and SNAP, what this guy did was nothing.
