House Democrats are pushing for the passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act to compel the Trump administration to release more documents about Epstein, who died by suicide in a federal prison in 2019, and his alleged sex trafficking operation.

Only three other House Republicans, all women, have joined Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie’s effort to force a vote on the legislation. Massie recently told right-wing provocateur James O’Keefe, “I don’t think my colleagues are happy about covering up for pedophiles. But that’s what’s happening. It’s so sick and twisted. The reason they’re doing it is because they’re terrified of Trump’s political machine.”

Still, the Republican dismissed Monday’s release of documents. “Having a birthday card from Trump doesn’t help the survivors and the victims,” Massie told reporters. “It doesn’t name an additional new person who could be indicted. I think it’s just a distraction.” Despite staunch GOP opposition, Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., who is spearheading the push to release the Epstein files with Massie, announced that he expects Democrats to reach the 218 votes needed to compel the release of the Epstein files by the end of the month.

Charlie Kirk was about to call for the release of the Epstein files. That's why Putin had him killed.

Source: The same place conservatives are getting their information.

lmao, might as well go there.

I mean there's as much evidence for that as it was a trans immigrant Palestinian or whatever they are claiming today.

Lol even for how silly and way out of touch with reality your comment is, the situation is far far worse.

They're telling their base that the entirety of the left shit him, and they're gobbling it up because they're incapable of thought.

Edit: shot not shit, keeping it because he truly deserved a supersonic turd to the neck. Maybe in another life.

No it was Kirk's scorned gay lover

I'm fairly sure that Charlie hired the shooter himself to give him a dramatic near miss but the shooter fuck up and hit him /s

People are falling for the firehose technique on kirk so hard. Anything to not talk about the Epstein birthday book, that's how you can tell it's real.

“The opposition party is the media,” Steve Bannon, who helped run Trump’s 2016 campaign, told PBS Frontline five years ago. “And the media can only — because they’re dumb and they’re lazy — they can only focus on one thing at a time.”

So the solution, per Bannon? Overwhelm them.

“All we have to do is flood the zone,” he said. “Every day we hit them with three things. They’ll bite on one, and we’ll get all of our stuff done, bang, bang, bang. These guys will never — will never be able to recover. But we’ve got to start with muzzle velocity.”

I mean if they're already resorting to popping each other in the neck to keep the zone flooded I think we're in a better position than previously thought.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 2 points 5 days ago

I have no idea if they're killing their own to keep the zone flooded, but they certainly own the major news outlets that are changing the subject so easily. They didn't cover trump's fake ear injury as much as kirk dying.

who died by suicide

Nope. Don't trust the rest of this.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 9 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Every outlet says that, the rest of the article is quotes.

This is my statement that I am not willing to go a long with what is an obvious lie, no matter how many people or organizations report it without proof.

I understand that that was the legal consensus, but that doesn't make it the truth and this whole fucker is way to shaky for any reputable news outlet to take it at face value.

If they're willing to go a long with this, where else are they willing to bend?

[–] zarkanian@sh.itjust.works 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

What convinced you that it was an obvious lie?

[–] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 10 points 5 days ago

Missing footage.

I guess that it could very well have been a suicide, but we don't have definitive proof of that, and to act like we do is irresponsible.

It may not be a direct lie, but it is not the truth, at least yet.

The missing footage and obvious interest in making this dude disappear leads me to believe foul play, but I can't know that for sure.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world -1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

He died by suicide, clearly. The conspiracy is that someone may have had a discussion with him as to options and what his future would hold, and then kept the guards away. Hell, the discussion part didn't even need to happen.

[–] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 7 points 5 days ago

Dude no. Not clearly, at all. That guy had an infinite amount of bargaining chips first of all, so rule out that conspiracy, secondly if he killed himself, why are they deleting footage from the tapes, and why didn't they immediately come out? The whole thing stinks like shit.

I'll admit, he may have. We just don't have definitive proof of that, we have more proof of foul play, but still inconclusive.
