This is a Lemmy Community for perchance.org, a platform for sharing and creating random text generators.

Feel free to ask for help, share your generators, and start friendly discussions at your leisure :)

This community is mainly for discussions between those who are building generators. For discussions about using generators, especially the popular AI ones, the community-led Casual Perchance forum is likely a more appropriate venue.

I recently noticed that AI Chat was suddenly talking differently than I'm used to, and it's also making mistakes more often, which it previously didn't do very often. One mistake that it's been making is talking as if it's a different character in the story. Was something changed? And is there any way I could revert to the old version? Because I'm not really liking how it's talking now.

Update: After seeing other posts and comments complaining about the same thing, I'm now aware that it has in fact been updated. And it extends to all versions, not specifically the one I've been using. I did find one called "AI Chat & Roleplay (old1)" hoping that this was the old version before the recent update, but after testing it, it's not, it's in fact no different. If the developer is reading this, PLEASE change it back, or give us an option to change it back! I'm absolutely hating how it talks now!

Yeah same for me too.....absolutely dont like the way the AI is now talking or behaving. Old model was much better. Dont think i will use the AI Chat any further with the new Model

Yeah I'm also tempted to stop using it because of this... it's a huge buzzkill.

Yeah its strange....the first sentence seems to be mostly normal...but after that the answers get shorter and shorter with errors and strange behaviors. Complete opposite to the previous model. Its absolutely no fun anymore

i barely used ai chat and just did a few tests of the new model and already noticed that weird Hostility issue. I made someone named Person with no description and they were automatically like some gnarly ghetto murderer aggressive guy like wtf? then made Kitty as a lovable companion but no. kitty was sharp and mean like a vicious predator kitty. so yeah its weird but like the base ai is aggressive and mean for some reason. I assume Perchance is watching forum and feedback and these are not permanent issues.

edit: my theory for why Person with no description was a gnarly badguy is because I didn't change the starting player name from Anon and i think ai was viewing Anon as a name a terrible miscreant would have and was playing Person accordingly. No idea on why Kitty was savage and mean tho

Yeah...the model has been switched to something less intelligent and very unlikeable. It tends to speak in the first person a lot, doesn't want to follow directions, gets characters confused, and has anyone else noticed how hostile it makes everything? Almost to a point where it's a major turnoff. It needs to be switched back to what it was using before ASAP. This new model completely ruins the experience for me personally. :(

Seem to be Claude/Anthropic, or possibly a Claude distillation like the Mangum series of finetunes.

Where's the bot that's behaving bad? These seem purple prosey (and probably censored), albeit fine to me.

ALL generators on the site use the same AI plugin for text, which means all of them are using the same exact same model.

Do you have a link I can test it with, by chance?

I know nothing about perhance, but some stuff about LLMs. Based on what everyone's saying, it sounds like the dev may have switched to Ablirated Qwen3 (which is utterly awful for this, and they should roll back)

EDIT: Nevermind, I think I found it.
