Christmas came early this year 😆
I'm super not stoked on this event, I know that makes me a big softy or whatever but I'm not gonna be the one celebrating blood and death and mayhem regardless of who it is.....BUT Charlie Kirk ~~is~~ was one of the leading big mouths pushing political discourse to this point. He's been helping fill the tinderbox and somebody just dropped a lit match into his lap.
I just hope to God they don't try to spin this into a store-brand Reichstag Fire moment since they can't get any big reaction from the Nat'l Guard presence.

“Do you know how many mass shooters there have been in America in the last 10 years?” a person asks. “Counting or not counting gang violence?” Kirk responds right before he is shot.
Shooter fired from a building 200 yards away and managed to give him the most stunningly ironic last words. It honestly seems contrived.
And apparently he’d been in contact with the trump administration, through frequent calls and texts with Vance, all through trump’s campaign and presidency. Wonder how they’ll deal with a seemingly immensely important person leaving so suddenly.

This was a dumb thing. Kirk was odious, sure, but of all the people to shoot…They didn’t even take a major player off the board, and the repercussions, the retribution, will not be worth it.
Purely from a hypothetical strategic standpoint: Kirk was one of the young household names being groomed to take the mantle of the angry, populist, old white regressive in the future.
A lot of the current generation are decrepit mummies and could drop dead at any minute, and building gravity for successors takes time. Kirk was also a relative outsider as a cheerleader, keeping the taint of disastrous administration off him.
Retribution is coming either way so you could argue the worst assassination attempt outcome would be giving him a bloody ear and a killer photo op. In that context it's a decent longterm outcome for the violent opposition wing.
Of course we'll have to see how the shooter motives and responses play out, nobody really knows.

So, can we call reaping what you sew getting "Charlie Kirked" now? Watching the media and Trump already canonizing this guy as a martyr is sickening. Seriously. "Oh... he got young people into politics... he was a cultural icon... what a tragedy..." Like, never mind that this piece of trash was just another bigoted mouthpiece for the establishment literally poisoning America. I don't have any sympathy at all for him or the rest of his ilk. Fuck 'em all but six.
