This is the guy liberals see as their future president. This is the guy who smugly challenged DeSantis to a debate on Fox News so he can show off how great and progressive he is compared to DeSantis, while vetoing a bill that would protect trans kids. Just another loser in a long line of liberal losers.

Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.
Rules:
-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --
-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --
How the fuck do people accept the kind of reasoning used against decriminalization?
We believe this drug is too dangerous for you to use safely, so to protect you from any adverse effects we're going to throw you into fucking prison and ruin your job prospects for the rest of your life if we catch you using it.
Like what the actual fuck? Of course, maintaining a pool of legal slaves is the entire goal, but it baffles me ordinary liberals continuously fall for it.
Its in what you said. Scratch a Liberal.
The California Coalition for Psychedelic Safety and Education, which opposed the measure, said more safeguards are necessary before decriminalization occurs.
“We’re grateful that Governor Newsom listened to some of the top medical experts, psychedelic researchers and psychiatrists in the country who all warned that legalization without guardrails was at best premature for both personal and therapeutic use,” the coalition said in a statement Saturday. “Any move toward decriminalization will require appropriate public education campaigns, safety protocols and emergency response procedures to help keep Californians safe.”
For one, nobody was arguing for "legalization without guardrails". Decriminalization and legalization are two different things. Secondly, how does throwing people in jail get you closer to achieving "appropriate public education campaigns, safety protocols and emergency response procedures"?
Despite what conservatives want to believe, MKULTRA often selected black, poor, prisoners, or really any marginalized group as test subjects. Letting them breathe means less experimentation.
Fishing for campaign donations from pharma PACs
Oh hey a giant police state doesn't want to decriminalize more drugs. Wonder why.
Idk which is worse,
that liberals will use the "electability" excuse, that they need to appeal to hypothetical [read: Fake] "unaligned voters", to kill overwhelmingly popular policies that they dont like;
or that they genuinely believe that there is an amorphous mass of middle american voters that make up the "silent majority" who can only be appealed to by being freakishly ghoulish.
“California should immediately begin work to set up regulated treatment guidelines - replete with dosing information, therapeutic guidelines, rules to prevent against exploitation during guided treatments, and medical clearance of no underlying psychoses," Newsom's statement said. “Unfortunately, this bill would decriminalize possession prior to these guidelines going into place, and I cannot sign it.”
To the extent that we don't have those things, it's because of prohibition. Every study I've read (I'm especially interested in the migraine prevention aspects) has a paragraph or two bemoaning how little research they've been allowed to do.
guided regulated mushroom treatment is liberalism just go in the woods and eat some
upholding Maoist thought by dropping three tabs of acid in the woods and having a struggle session with Mothman and the Flatwoods Monster
everything this opportunist does is aimed at running for pres in 2028
And yet all it will it do is make him less popular, because he is fully captured by Dem electoral anti-strategy ideology
