They knew this was coming before the planting season, too. Now, they may have already used their loans on soy, as I'm not sure about the time frame on when their orders would be placed, but they still could have minimized the loss with reduced planting. This is how incredibly stupid these people are. They've known since last November he was elected and what his plans were.

Weird. I seem to remember the orange idiot they voted for starting a pointless trade war with China (and the rest of the world)? That's why we're all paying more for less...
This isn't even the first time this has happened. Soybean farmers already got screwed over as a result of one of Trump's trade wars way back in 2018 during his first term. Anyone who voted for Trump again expecting anything different is an idiot.

Most soy goes to livestock feed, and most of that goes to poultry.
Only 20% goes to human consumption, with most of that going to oil.
