They better not call offsides. NY's defensive end has been lining up offsides all day.

Hi there! Can you please make a thread for all the game comments? Your comment on Mastodon ends up looking you are spamming the lemmy group...

@rglullis

Hey, I'm not sure it will make a difference. I would still include all the same hashtags in each post. I won't take it personally if you want to mute me on game day.

This is on Lemmy, not on Mastodon, so there is no such thing as muting someone - just outright blocking which I don't think it's warranted.

It's just a matter of making the same posts on the same thread, if you make each comment as a reply for the previous one we won't get a new post.

@rglullis

Is it just my posts? There are a ton of NFL posts from other people, too.

Yeah, all posts where @nfl@nfl.community are tagged (which are new and not a reply to an existing post) generate a new post on Lemmy. So if you just write in a thread, things will be fine both on Mastodon and Lemmy.

@rglullis

Ah, gotcha. Threading is a little cumbersome on Mastodon, I can omit nfl(at)nfl.community from my posts instead. Would that work?

[–] rglullis@communick.news 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Sure, if you don't tag the group they won't show there. Maybe tag only the posts where you think it could have some discussion going, that would work well.

@rglullis

Works for me. Thanks for the heads up.
