Explanation: Pictured is the US general William T. Sherman, whose most famous period of service was during the US Civil War. In the US, the South is noted for its culinary expertise in barbecue.
During the US Civil War, after three years of bloody fighting, General Sherman came to the conclusion that the South's will to fight would be sapped more by a rampage through Southern lands than by fighting their soldiers. So he cut his way through to the interior of the US South, and then 'lived off the land', taking supplies and destroying/burning whatever important logistics and materiel remained - including barns, railroads, warehouses, etc - and freeing thousands of slaves along the way.
Sure enough, this crushed the morale of the South, and was a major factor in ending the war. Greatest Southern barbecue of all time!
