Get this! Mike Johnson is now claiming — with no evidence whatsoever — that Donald Trump once served as an FBI informant to help dismantle sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s trafficking network. Johnson told reporters Trump “was an FBI informant in an effort to take Epstein down.”

I’M NOT JOKING!!! 🤣🤣

Sadly I have already seen some posts praising him for his "service"

MAGA should realize they've got a real 007 on their hands

0 Intel Collected

0 Kids Saved

7 Children Raped

[–] WanderFree@sh.itjust.works 2 points 17 hours ago

I mean, it is only fair that we apologize for our doubts and cheer for his nobel prize... After they release ALL the files, which would make that work as an FBI informant public info. If true, I am sure it was out of a sense of public duty, and not a way to shield him from prosecution. He is a patriot, not a low level pedo snitch, right?

[–] misteloct@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

This is literally an official admission of his guilt. FBI informants do NOT have qualified immunity. They probably brought him in for questioning once.

MAGA voted for all this.

Remember that.

Nobel Peace Prize, here we come!

This is gonna cause a resurgence of Qanon. And even his "normal" base will lap it up, because now it's not coming from 4chan, but rather his own speaker.

This administration is the most insane government I've ever seen in a 'developed' nation, at any time in the recorded history of 'developed' nations. There isn't even a close second, and it's somehow worse than Trump's first term.

Looking forward to his third term, I'm sure it'll be great fun.

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He tweeted something last week with a Q in it trying to stir them up again. Mostly to try and throw the deep-seeded maga nuts off of the Epstein files. They are 100% not going to let that go - this is the closest they'll ever get in their lives to being correct about a cabal of pedos running things.

[–] end_stage_ligma@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I'm pretty sure Q was a "deep state" psyop all along. The whole Jan 6 thing was planned, and I think the perfunctory and relatively toothless response by the government was intentional so that those traitors could later be recruited in their gestapo.

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 1 points 6 hours ago

Deep state? No one in the "Deep State" wanted any of that. The "Deep State" is all the bureaucrats that tell political appointees "no, we can't because of this law from the 70's that says it's illegal...." All the federal employees getting laid off in DC are part of that "Deep State" - you really think someone that processes HR vouchers for AmeriCorps is also running psyops in their spare time?

The original Q stuff was most likely a 4Chan/8Kun prank that just spiraled into pure insanity and had no reason to slow down or stop. It's fairly well accepted that Ron Watkins and his dad started it or were close to those who did, and once it built up momentum, just ran with it. It's not hard to get people, especially conspiracy-prone folks to see patterns in anything once you prime them. It's literally the basis of how Trump got elected, you give them enough info for the pareidolia to fill in the gaps for them. How many people of that same caliber fly flags where they make a well-known fat gun-hater into a ripped guy holding a gun? Same mechanic. These people are also very prone to getting scammed as well due to the same cognitive shortcoming. Someone gives them dogshit info on an obvious scam and if the right virtue signaling is there, their bias-confirming lizard brain will do anything to belong and donate money or buy Trump-branded BS like the "Trump Card" scam.

[–] AlexLost@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

It was definitely a test of their power. Notice the instigators did not face any justice, only the foot soldiers. They also proved the inability to prevent disaster in "the pipe bomb incident" that went unsolved. That did not make anyone in Congress sleep any lighter. It's also likely why we don't see much push back. Trump is the fucking mob, and you'll face the mobs justice if you step out of line.

[–] Chozo@fedia.io 208 points 2 days ago (2 children)

So you're telling me Trump DID know about all the child-raping all along? And never said anything about it this whole time in the years after he had Epstein killed? The man who takes credit for EVERYTHING never once piped up to say "I turned Epstein in to the FBI"?

That's not the slam dunk you seem to think it is, Johnson.

[–] Uli@sopuli.xyz 34 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Yes, that is what is means. Trump was chummy with Epstein for many years, knew about the child trafficking and took part in it. Epstein "stole" a young girl from Trump's resort and Trump got mad that Epstein took her out from under him. So, when Epstein wanted to buy a mansion, Trump used a Russian oligarch's money to outbid him. And Epstein was so pissed that he threatened to expose Trump's ties to Russia, and as a response, Trump turned Epstein in to the FBI. Alex Acosta was persuaded to give Epstein a sweetheart deal where he was not given Federal charges and got out on work release for up to 16 hours a day, 6 days a week, during his massively shortened sentence. And when Trump and Epstein later made up, Trump returned the favor to Acosta by giving him the Secretary of Labor position in his cabinet. So yeah, Trump "informing on Epstein to the FBI" definitely does not turn him into some kind of hero.

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Excellent summary. What's your opinion om the possibility epstein was a honey pot? When confronted about the deal during his confirmation hearings, Acosta claimed that he was told epstein "belonged to intelligence" and that the matter was "above his pay grade." It could be a convenient and unverifiable excuse, but the fact that the FBI doubtless has mountains of evidence recovered from two raids on epstein and basically zero prosecution has arisen from it, I find it likely to be true.

It's almost as if they're trying to set up the claim that if he did fuck any kids, it was to protect them from the creeps that wanted to fuck them.
Sociopaths.

[–] SharkAttak@kbin.melroy.org 40 points 1 day ago

He was VERY inside the organization! You could say balls deep into all the little details!

[–] Decq@lemmy.world 88 points 2 days ago (1 children)

This can easily be discarded for just the fact that trump would have bragged about this a long time ago if true.

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The problem is this is the exact cope that magats have been using since the flight logs were released, maybe even earlier.

"Trump good guy so if he was close with epstein it was OBVIOUSLY so he could take down the pedo ring!"

This will cause cognitive dissonance in approximately none of them.

And how many times did he sample the product, just to be sure they were really underage?

Vote with lead.

Honestly, the fact that Trump is still alive is mind boggling.

Don't you become an informant when they catch you and offer you the deal; You get to walk free for the crime you committed, but have to risk your life spying on your fellow criminals for the fuzz?

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 22 points 1 day ago

Trump would 100% take that deal if it was offered to him, without a moments hesitation. He'd also fuck it up within about 30 seconds. Which is why I know this isn't real.

That's great Mike! I'm sure releasing the epstein files will show all that and exonerate your guy.

[–] slickgoat@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Least plausible explanation ever. It makes the 'dog ate my homework ' seem like a masterclass in defence.

"ICE Raided my house and destroyed the honework" now seems very plausible

[–] BigMacHole@sopuli.xyz 107 points 2 days ago

Donald Trump was an FBI Informant for a man who did NO WRONG and also does NOT Appear in the Epstein Files despite being REALLY Close to Epstein to bring him down and had SEX with CHILDREN to bring down Epstein who Continued bringing children to CHILD RAPE ISLAND for DECADES after Trump started Investigating him!

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 40 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Hey guys, former MI6 Agent here, I have a confidential source from inside capitol hill confirming that US House Speaker Johnson's words are false.

Source: Idk, ask how Johnson he pulled that out of his ass

[–] aceshigh@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago

So they’re admitting that he’s in the files but that he was an undercover fbi agent, and part of the undercover operation was raping kids… so it’s all good?

[–] thesohoriots@lemmy.world 86 points 2 days ago (1 children)

This is a Qanon thing my MIL was spouting years ago. Trump was “secretly there to save the children” is not new.

Even if he was an informant, arent informants people who were involved and just as guilty?

[–] Atomic@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Don't fall into it. It's a classic case of

It didn't happen.

And if it did, it wasn't that bad.

And if it was, that's not a big deal.

And if it is, that's not my fault.

And if it was, I didn't mean it.

And if I did, you deserved it.

We've gone from "it didn't happen" to "and if it is, that's not my fault". By saying "even if he was" you are inadvertently enabling the next step.

It happened. It was that bad. It is a big deal. He took part in the fault. He did mean it. They (the victims) didn't deserve it.

Exactly. The FBI “turns” people who are likely guilty into informants with the promise of leniency if they help to get dirt on “bigger fish”. They don’t just go up to a random business man in good standing and ask them to befriend the target of a criminal investigation.

So if Trump admits to this then it implies the FBI was investigating him for similar crimes and decided to use him to further incriminate Epstein.

Even magas can't be buying this, can they?

...they're probably already buying t-shirts with 'Agent Trump' or some shit, or branding it onto their foreheads, as they do.

Of course they're buying it.

How many major drug dealers were caught and became "fbi informants" to take down the rest?

Isn't this an admission of guilt?

[–] chrome_daddy@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago

Exactly what I came here to say. Many if not most informants are people who cut a deal in order to get out of their own charges because the evidence against them is so strong that they wouldn't stand a chance in court.

Now it is possible that the FBI had him on financial crimes and used him to get to Epstein however that's unlikely the case considering the courts have found Trump liable for one sexual assault (E. Jean Carroll) and he's been accused of several more including the rape of a 13 year old: https://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000158-26b6-dda3-afd8-b6fe46f40000

Trump was an undercover FBI agent raping underage girls so he wouldn't blow his cover.

I don't have a doubt in my mind Trump's mayonnaise brain might now think this is true. Him and reality have never really got along.

[–] octopus_ink@slrpnk.net 58 points 2 days ago

FWIW, apparently they are. I hadn't peeked to see if we'd hit the high water mark for what /r/conservative will accept from Trump in a couple months. You'll be happy to know that we have not.

This is apparently his actual vindication according to the true believers.

[–] spaghettiwestern@sh.itjust.works 20 points 1 day ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (1 children)

During the first Trump term I was on a local social media website that shall remain nameless. The magats were hands-down the most arrogant, ignorant, illiterate, consistently miserable people I've ever dealt with online. Most of them couldn't spell, capitalize or punctuate, or write even a simple sentence expressing a coherent thought. Apparently they really had no coherent thoughts to express.

For months I saw nothing from them but lockstep support of Trump no matter what he did. It became clear that magats aren't smart enough to know what they're supporting and they don't care as long as they get to hurt the people they hate. That includes most everyone else.

I hope every maga jackass gets the get the day they voted for. It's too bad the rest of us will get the day they voted for too.

Keep it in the headlines, please

How the hell are public officials allowed to just 100% lie and gas light ALL of the time?

Before I retired, if an employee of mine lied to me about their job, and I found out, that person would have been terminated. Immediately.

[–] bizzle@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Because no American politician has ever been held accountable for lies or corruption. They know they can get away with it so why wouldn't they

I'll be honest, I know that the Epstein thing was/is supposed to be the unifying matter that Republicans and Democrats all agree on, but outside of online discourse, I haven't heard any MAGA discussion of the topic in weeks (or longer).

Maybe I'm just in an anomalous social circle, but from my perspective, it seems like there's a vocal minority of MAGA online who make a ruckus about this, when in person, they just don't give a crap.

So, I hate to think it, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter what excuse Republican leaders give or what story they weave. I'm guessing they could literally just release mountains of evidence and fully admit that Trump did it, intentionally, and he enjoyed it immensely, and his popularity with MAGA would probably only drop a couple of percentage points (and that's if it didn't actually go up for him "telling it like it is").
