Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Tuesday that a video circulating online that showed items being tossed out of an upstairs window of the White House was created with artificial intelligence, despite his press team seeming to confirm the veracity of it hours earlier.

Trump, who has boasted of being an expert in building design as he takes on remodeling projects at the White Houseand beyond, told reporters that the video has “got to be fake” because the windows, he said, are heavy and sealed shut.

The video, which circulated Monday, appears to show a small black bag and a long white item being tossed out of a window on the building’s east side.

Trump blamed the video on AI, saying the creation of fake videos was one of the downsides of the technology, but then said, “If something happens that’s really bad, maybe I’ll have to just blame AI.”

Hours earlier, the White House seemed to verify that the video was real when it told several news outlets that inquired about the video that it was “a contractor who was doing regular maintenance while the President was gone.”

The White House did not respond to a message later Tuesday about the discrepancy.

“If something happens that’s really bad, maybe I’ll have to just blame AI.”

Trump: "Did I say that out loud? I meant to be just thinking it."

It cannot be repeated enough times how incredible stupid that man is. His stupidity is only unmatched by his arrogance, unfortunately arrogance is all it takes for people to take him seriously apparently.

Holy crap it’s real

[–] paraphrand@lemmy.world 13 points 7 months ago (1 children)

He’s also pontificating on getting into heaven now too. He has to talk in circles to distract from leaking what’s on his mind and what he’s been advised about/told to remember.

Wait. ¿¡What‽ LOL the man is an avowed enemy of God. His entire life has made him a nominee for "stupidest timeline antichrist." The very ground he treads curses him for being as evil as he is stupid.

Maybe he oughtta read a Bible instead of just clumsily, ignorantly waving it around with his disgusting little molesty-mitts.

They even make ones with pictures now so he could figure it out, or he could have a staffer read it to him.

I bet it'd be quite eye-opening for him to find out Heaven is not a destination for unrepentant, power obsessed would-be emperors, exploiters, blasphemers, murderers, rapists, liars, userers, and manipulators.

If he truly cared where he's headed when his bloated, dessicated husk finally gives up any day now, he's got very little time left to do a whole lot of repenting, yet he's still super busy aspiring to be Adolf'ollini Caligula the Terrible Mad Orange King, sooo. . . we're all a bit confused.

He could always start with an open confession of those files sooner than later. As the book of Numbers states: Your sins will always find you out.

I bet he thinks he's gonna get to "make a deal" when he's out of time.

Number one, he's demented. His brain is eating itself and it's getting really bad.

Number two, he's a career criminal and he's definitely doing some superfuckingshady shit. The bag could be filled with money, priceless artifacts, or just his shit because he's demented and put his used diaper in one of the CIA burn bags because he doesn't know who or where he is.

Number three - where's the fucking video?

“a contractor who was doing regular maintenance while the President was gone.”

So, is it normal for a contractor to be throwing bags out the window at the White House, that the President believes is “600lbs, bulletproof, and can't be opened”?

Seems sus.

[–] MBech@feddit.dk 57 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Well if anyone can get the window open, it's probably that contractor, and if anyone would spend an hour cutting a window open to avoid going up and down some stairs a few times, it's any contractor ever.

I did laugh out loud to that. 😂

[–] IamSparticles@lemmy.zip 49 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Sure. Someone spent time and resources to create an AI video of an unidentifiable person throwing unidentifiable objects out a window. For some reason. That seems like a perfectly logical conclusion.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 8 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Yeah, especially when the alternative explanation is that a habitual liar is lying again.

Real news here: the windows can be opened.

[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 6 points 7 months ago (3 children)

Tbh I'm pretty surprised too. I would have thought that whole damn building was completely locked down in the case of even chemical attack

Whatever Trump says, unless it's hateful, always assume it's the opposite.

[–] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 31 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Here we go.

Police britality against protestors is "AI", russian invasion of Ukraine is "AI", a video of trump telling his people to attack the capitol in 2021 is "AI", Tiananmen Square Massacre is "AI".

Truth is over, you can shoot someone on 5th avenue in broad daylight, and say any video of the murder to be "AI".

Welcome to the new era! Truth are lies and lies are truth.

[–] glitch1985@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago (1 children)

So AI is just photoshop with less steps?

[–] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 9 points 7 months ago (1 children)

With less skill and effort needed.

JFC, people just completely ignoring the most simple answer:

Trump had no idea renovations were happening and had not seen the video so made a knee-jerk statement that it must be AI based on his lack of knowledge and his assumption that the windows couldn't be opened normally (renovations are not a normal scenario).

That's it.

Theres no coverup. There's no conspiracy. Just a confused old man getting defensive about something he had no idea was happening.

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 10 points 7 months ago

Or he has contractors in there without getting clearance because it's slow, and he does what he wants and then lies about it like a toddler.

What in the unpaid contractor?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 14 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

I saw all these on Colbert and the order they told events including the part about people wondering if Trump died had me going "How do we know this video of Trump saying the bag video is AI isnt AI itself, and he actually is dead?"

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 6 points 7 months ago

I hate to get all conspiracy theory, but the guy knew that a Congressional hearing on the Epstein Files was happening. He is a skilled manipulator. So what does he do to suck all the air out of DC? Nothing. He takes a few days off, his social media goons see the "is he dead?" stuff on X - I'm not even sure that they didn't push it - and then anything he did at any point would be the lead news. So he trots out a super-size nothingburger and the media can. not. get. enough.

Did that hearing make the "Breaking!" Fox News chiron? Nope. Totally drown out by this guy.

This is the beginning of the Great Rubbish Defenestration Scandal that will finally bring this administration to its knees.

White House officials claim it was a contractor doing work while Trump was out. Supposedly contractors are not allowed in the White House. Not sure what’s going on but I am sure we will never get answers until Trump is long gone or dead.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 4 points 7 months ago

Not sure what’s going on but I am sure we will never get answers until Trump is long gone or dead.

Well, you can be sure it wasn't Trump going through the effort of throwing something.

lmao?

He shit everywhere and cleaner was like ‘ah hell no’ and threw it out as the quickest way to get rid of the horrendous stench

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 6 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Its wierd to me he would jump to ai for something relatively innocuous unless he was having an episode and was the one doing it. Which, lets facce it, only the president could get away with doing crazy shit in the white house.

[–] Tyrq@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 7 months ago (2 children)

I think it's possible that the only thing he gets coached on in those situations is to just blame AI

'We where having issues with our maintenance and decoded it would be easier to just have the trash tossed out the window that day' is what I would have said.
