Would that be the same TFW program that he voted to expand when he was part of Harper's government?

Bloody hypocritical populist.

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.ca 34 points 6 days ago (1 children)

The very same. They needed their exploitable work force, but now they are an easy target for the racists. So it's exploit people who have little recourse.

[–] Kichae@lemmy.ca 9 points 5 days ago

It's also a win/win target for him. If the government did eliminated the TFW program, there'd be a wave of fear over wages and an endless stream of attacks funded by employers. If they didn't, then there's a bunch of brown people taking good ol' Canadian jerbs!

[–] cyborganism@lemmy.ca 5 points 6 days ago

Right???? What a bag.

[–] TheFeatureCreature@lemmy.ca 42 points 6 days ago (1 children)

PP is a supporter of the TFW program and has been for years. God I hate this slimy weasel so much. He is everything wrong with modern politics compressed into a single person.

Been doing these Conservative ideology vs Conservatives.

For this one is that a large part of the TFW program abused to exploit people for financial gains. e.i. Capitalism. Out of the things Conservatives would actually give a committed answer to economically is that they want more capitalism.

Not sure why they believe Pierre would be a improvement for this.

Dude is desperately trying to find any conservative adjacent position that Carney won't beat him to the punch on. How this move translates likes and tweets to dollars and votes is beyond me.

[–] swordgeek@lemmy.ca 20 points 5 days ago

Because he's chasing the growing racist vote.

[–] OliveMoon@lemmy.ca 4 points 4 days ago

Hey PP? How’s that Security Clearance going? Tired of your excuses. Carney went through the process. Why won’t you??

[–] k0e3@lemmy.ca 7 points 5 days ago (2 children)

PP? The one that lost his own riding? That guy?

[–] GrindingGears@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 days ago

Ol' Second Try Pierre, himself

[–] Sunshine@piefed.ca 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

He had to run in a safe seat and yet as party leader won less of the percentage of the vote (80.9%) compared to Damien Kurek’s high (82.8%)

[–] GrindingGears@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 days ago

In a riding where a molted grape that was to be considered a conservative would have won at least 80% of the vote.

Speaks to the quality of the electorate. If the people of Rural Alberta want to be listened to, taken seriously, and not treated like hicks, maybe they should get out of their cousins bed and quit acting like they are serious about it. Because they are people that can't be taken seriously..

And yet, almost 100% of Orchardists and Farmers have and will continue to vote for him, despite the entire industry absolutely requiring foreign workers in order to exist.

I wonder how long it would take for those people to hit the FO part of FAFO, if this were to ever pass?

About the same point that the Americans figured it out. Some of them haven't yet.

MAGA farmers voted that shit in because they thought all the bad shit would happen to someone else.

Problem is, Fascism/Authoritarianism doesn’t give a shit who it hurts, only that the ultra-wealthy benefit.

And so, all working class voters must be hurt, even those who voted the Fascists/Authoritarianists into power.

I’m sorry — I’ve been told for a very long that the only thing you can axe is the tax.

[–] YesButActuallyMaybe@lemmy.ca 3 points 5 days ago

Damnit I’ve been faxing the tax this whole time 🫢

  • "What's your opinion and position on said topic?"

  • "Whatever is currently opposite of the other guy!"

[–] OliveMoon@lemmy.ca 8 points 5 days ago

Sooo, Wee Willie PeePee, how’s that Security Clearance coming??

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 9 points 5 days ago

Tiny PP now in control of 100% of the PPC voters.

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 7 points 5 days ago

Because of the massive exploitation and slavery analogue?

[–] Adderbox76@lemmy.ca 3 points 5 days ago

But that doesn't rhyme! How are your supporters going to understand something that doesn't rhyme?
