Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).
Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.

Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".

Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
as early as the 1960s [...] as a subgenre of erotic slash (same-sex) fan fiction, as a fusion of elements of werewolf fiction and the mpreg subgenre.
That whole article is a fucking trip down the self-lubricating rabbit hole.
i hate this phrasing. well done.
I don't understand the fuss. He's probably just vacationing on the island of a good old friend again.
You mean, the island in the sky?
Yes, exactly, somewhere southeast of St. Thomas.
Did something happen to the orange piece of shit? Don't just raise my hopes.
He's been light on public appearances, the Pentagon Pizza Index has been firing up, and JD Vance said he's ready to be president if something """""""terrible""""""" happens.
Vance was asked if he would be ready in an interview. He didn't just randomly say it.
What a stupid question. Like asking a job applicant if they're ready for the job they chose to interview for. Who the fuck is going to say no?
Good questions should pull useful information out. Somebody oughta throw a raw hot dog at the interviewer.
I agree, but every VP has been asked that at some point. Many interviews these days are pointless softball questions, with easy or completely obvious answers.
Ah.
For others, since I was curious. No clue how accurate any of this is, but recent sources:
- ...looks frail after vanishing from public eye amid intense health speculation article today
- Here's apparently the pizza index.
- JD Vance Says He's Ready to Take Over... 3 days ago.
There are no proofs, but the main theory I've seen is that he had a mild stroke and was out of order for a couple of days.
What a terrible day to have sentience
oh god is that the erotic literature thing with pregnant men and several genders that are all male variants?
Very much so.
Great day to be a woman tbh.
You're not even safe then - I've read a Korean lesbian Omegaverse comic before ... It wasn't great.
Well, may I tell you about "Perfect Heroine Wants to Possess Me" which technically is inside of the omegaverse. But pretty much uses its "world building" (which I assumed was mostly to allow mpreg) to make a genuine good story about breaking the social norms n stuff. I see that as a win for sapphic writing. I'm naive tho and haven't actually read anything more smut-ish, so guess me not safe.
You can tell me about it, but I'm not going to go look it up, lol
The one I read (can't even remember the name) was, like many Korean comics, devoid of organic character development and dialogue. It was basically strung together sex scenes that were all the same, and the only reason I remember it at all is because it was so bad.
The talk about his health is an orange herring to distract from the military buildup around Venezuela.
Aaaaaand that's enough lemmy for today
Thanks i hate it
