Nautilus. I just finished it, would love a new season. The Bridge (2011). I had watched the UK-France one and I wasn't impressed, but the OG one is great.
Finished Murderbot yesterday, very short quick watch, had some decent laughs.
Wrapped up Star Trek Discovery today, really hated S5, but loved the show regardless.
Watched Upload season 4. Left me very upset with decisions the showrunners took. Im glad we got a wrap up, but god damned did they fumble it.
Stumbled upon season 2 of "The Rig" this was a nice surprise - when I watched the 1st season a couple years ago I figured it wouldn't get another season.
Some of the latest Taskmaster seasons have been pretty good
I'm starting Peacemaker S2 this week.
Watching Alien: Earth ep 4 tonight. I agree with the other comments in that I'm still not liking it. It's not terrible, but it's pretty mid and I don't really care for any of the characters at this point.
Rewatching Ted Lasso again. Not sure how many times I have watched it already. Never gets old. It’s good for the soul.
I am not interested in sports at all, should I still watch it?
Definitely still worth a watch, you really don't have to know anything about soccer.
Absolutely. I hate soccer with a passion and it’s still the greatest show ever.
Can confirm: greatest show ever.
The characters just pull you in. So much of the writing includes little teachable moments and cute reveals -- like the darts scene.
I just watched the dart scene two nights ago. Man that is good TV!
I am picking up the new episodes of Twisted Metal as well as Platonic.
Both are fairly easy for me to just relax and not have my brain turned on fully. Twisted Metal is hella cheesy and for some reason I'm actually loving it. Maybe for the nostalgia and fantasy of the games coming to life, alone.
I haven't heard of Platonic, that sounds great. There's definitely not a romantic lens to it, right? Only asking because it's tagged as Romance on IMDb... sigh.
I don't think it's a romance, in my opinion!
Awesome, thanks for confirming.
could be an unrelated mention, depending on your reasons and interests in Platonic, but if you've not seen The Studio, I highly recommend it as well. it was a ton of fun. I'm a Seth fan anyway, but the production of this was so fun to watch, and I'm not a screen snob by any means.
I did a full rewatch of this. It is as good as I remember and I am looking forward to Ingelsby’s next show “Task” that will be released on 09/07.
I will be watching Episode 8 or 9 tonight and I wish this series would never end. I am loving it.
I have a love hate thing with Stephen Knight shows. Everything he does is almost great. He shows have spectacular casts, great production values but the stories just lack. This show is no different. I have one episode to go.
Christ I am just ashamed to admit I am watching this. It is more of the GWOT cockslobber propaganda that is Lone Survivor and American Sniper. I never bothered to finish the first season, but I have a weakness for Taylor Kitsch. I did the premiere.
I am on the 7th or 8th episode of this and it is really good. On the surface it is a run of the mill Brit cop show that is loaded with Harry Potter and Game of Thrones cast members, but wow this show really delivers. I am so glad it got a second season as the first is so good.
This docuseries uses multiple cell phone videos, security cameras videos and every video they can get to show the viewer multiple perspectives and various natural disasters. It isn’t that deep on analysis but it is destruction porn if you are into that.
One thing that is really eye opening is just how many disasters happen in the US.
It is Hard Knocks, if you are into the NFL you know what this show is all about. It is pre-season football, so if you are a Bills Fan you are probably loving this.
Shows that I am watching but not sure if I will continue:
It started off great but has begun to drag. It is very much a Stephen Knight ripoff with its blaring out of era music, lots of scenes of people walking around using low angle cameras. It has plenty of scenes of musical burlesque numbers on stage, that I find really hard to swallow. The show centers around a post WWI “speak easy” in London. Attendees of those places aren’t going to be into performances that have metaphorical vaginas, they just want strippers.
Shows that I have quit:
I did the first two episodes and I am just done with all things Alien. I was done with the franchise long before this show was released.
I really enjoyed Thousand Blows. Casting and acting was great imo!
Trying to watch Alien Earth, but it’s not very good. The animal torture scenes are so unnecessary — just another sign of what’s wrong with this show.
And I've found the show amazing and the scene with the sheep in the last episode was amazing lol.
I also think the story is a great twist on the alien franchise so far and acting has been good.
I appreciate if it's not your cup of tea though.
Yeah I find it boring and the bro/sis story weird. Everyone else in the show is also annoyed by them.
Moonbeam City. It's hilarious.
After having watched all the good and average rated episodes of the X-Files recently, I am now determined to watch the rest, so the worst rated 10% of the Series.
Can partly recommend, some are hilariously bad, some are genuinely interesting but maybe not quite what you would expect from an X-Files episode.
But also about half of them are actually really bad :-)
Just ripped through all 3 seasons of The Traitors. Come for the deception and backstabbing, stay for Alan Cumming's incredible outfits.
Started watching King & Conqueror yesterday. 1,5 episodes in, it seems more like a hagiography than a historical series, but I might finish it still. It's a bbc series about 1066.
SciFi
Devs — probably one of the best series I've watched. I like to compare it to some of the best early Black Mirror episodes, but a single story over the course of one whole season.
Comedy/Drama
You're the Worst — this is a weird one: the characters are really caustic, and it's used for laughs; but the series is incredibly good at taking the subject seriously, and builds to something great. Crazy Ex Girlfriend does that too, but it got too hard to watch for me (some of it hit close to home).
"Thriller"
Utopia (the UK version) – one of the best series I've watched, ever. I won't go too deep into what it's about; but it's 100% worth it. Just DO NOT watch the US remake.
Killing Eve — just watch it; it's amazing.
Heads up, do not watch the final season of Killing Eve. It is one of the worst final seasons ever released.
I've been meaning to watch Utopia for probably a decade at this point. Thanks for the reminder!
I watched the Devo documentary and it was so good I watched it again the next day. Great group of lads.
Been watching destination x, which airs its finale tonight. It interested me because it looked a lot like jet lag: the game meets the traitors with a bit of geoguessr thrown in. But it really suffers from the usual reality tv show bullshit, with hyped up drama, pointless twists, and so many red herrings and rule changes as to make the whole thing a bit pointless. I don't think I'll be watching a second series, but I think it's amazing that a bunch of youtubers can nail this sort of show first time while the BBC makes an absolute mess of it.
