Dunking on Liberals from a leftist, anti-capitalist perspective.

Dems keep working with trump to approve his picks, but what they won't accept is that if you sit down at a table with nazis, the only thing that's changed is the number of nazis at the table. @_cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Things keep getting worse for the Democratic Party. As bad as Trump is, it’s not translating into support for Democrats. In this video we’ll look at recent data and talk about why the Democratic Party is bleeding so much support.

And I maintain that none of this matters because the DNC and the Democrat establishment would rather lose elections than risk alienating their wealthy/corporate donors by being in any way connected to any actual leftism.

Well, yeah, they aren't leftists

I understand the democrats have no idea what they're doing, but do you really want the republicans ruining the country? If only we had a third party or something.

If only we had a third party or something.

And we could, but a lot of our fellow lefties don't really want to engage in electoral politics. This community is a good example. A of their critics of the DNC are valid, but want to miss the point of harm minimization. Forming a third party and voting for it should be our goal in blue states. Either the DNC shifts there to adopt our platform or risk a spoil. And if they still chose to lose we now have our own electoral infrastructure and don't need them (which is the long term goal). In red states we don't have much room to manoeuvre and minimizing harm might be the only path. I also get that many anarchist just don't want to participate, but if they help build a third party we can have more room to build our local community stuff. I get we want it all right now, but stuff takes time and efforts we haven't put in.

They know exactly what they are doing. They're doing it anyway because the money from places like AIPAC and their corporate sponsors are worth the trouble to them. The only thing they're unsure of is how to keep pulling the wool over the eyes of a voter base that is less convinced in them than they used to be.

And the reason for that is they've always scorned outreach, especially online, as being unnecessary because they've never really had to do it before. People voted democrat because they've always voted democrat. They could always count on loyalty, so why bother evolving their platform or policies over time? Which is why they're lagging behind republicans in everything from messaging to pure subscriber numbers. They have no idea how to talk to voters and convince them that the way they're acting is what's best for everyone.
