I like the caption of "accused" like we can't be certain that it is or isn't AI.
World News
A community for discussing events around the World
Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
- Post news articles only
- Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
- Title must match the article headline
- Not United States Internal News
- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
-
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF 10/19
-
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Will Smith has been having a Kanye-esq descent into madness for several years now, so this comes as no surprise.
Edited to fix spelling error.
These people are all businessmen at the end of the day.
They will do whatever they believe will make them the most amount of money for the least amount of effort.
It all went downhill after he slapped Riss Ross in the penis.
That shit still terrifies me.
Smith: "Hey now, conjoined twins are one of my biggest demographics!"
I'm an expert in fake audiences: From Madden 94 to Madden 25, I've seen them all.
This is a pretty good fake audience: I'll give it a 13. He should try adding Miis. I always like that you could find your friends in Wii games audiences.
Meanwhile, the woman in front of him is seemingly holding his hand, but the headband of the woman behind her is somehow over her wrist.
I’ll never understand how a statistical model for “next most probable pixel” can arrive at shit like this.
I'm still in awe how it gets things correct from randomness. Even the early stages years ago that were obviously bad still would get close to the idea, and now it's not that easy to determine some video origins.
I'm not talking about the morality and ethics of how it got here, but the science of how it works.
Yes and I’ve still never understood how text-clawed LLM chat bots and image generator AI seemed to reach these breakthroughs at the same time, or how they are related, under the sheet.
It looks like she's holding the lower left hand corner of the sign and his hand overlaps hers slightly, that doesn't look generated.
But that doesn't explain her bracelet slipping off onto the other womans head, or his weirdly shaped arm where his tattoo is by his watch.
Or his stretched downward face. Those proportions are not right.
Melted!
Well, he did have cancer...
Try overlapping your fingers the way shown in the picture. Unless there's something special or wrong with my hand, I can only overlap my fingers that way from pinky to pointer. And if you look at the bottom, it looks like there's a thumb wrapping around.
Which means that's not his right hand, it's his left hand upside down. But we can see that his left hand is on the right side of the sign—it's the one with a pointer that looks like a cross between ET's finger and a penis.
His thumb would be behind the sign somewhere around the "h". Then you have his four fingers.
Her hand starts right below his pinkie finger and it's her thumb curled up underneath the sign.
Looks like it could be that one's wearing a bracelet and the other's wearing a headband and the two are just coincidentally lining up.
Frankly, I think this kind of CSI "zoom and enhance!" analysis is kind of silly generally speaking. Does it matter if these images are AI generated? Does Will Smith matter?
Maybe this is AI-generated. Could be. Maybe it's real, could also be. None of the "defects" seem particularly egregious. But at the end of the day I don't see how it's going to change anything of any significance either way.
And how a mega star like this (or more likely his media team) DON'T REALISE
It's because they're stupid and they believe they're smarter than us.
I chalk it up to ye olde statistics and having to view data as a matrix or tensor of bytes lol
Best way to know for certain is to interview people from the audience.
Excuse me, sir?
Oh. Oh my. I'm so sorry. You and your friends are obviously busy, I'll just g-
Oh god, help me! The nightmares are real!!!!
Woman! Whooooooooaaaaaaaaaaa man!
The T-1000 mid-transformation?
"HEED! MOOVE!"
It's like he's wearing the skin of someone elses face on his shirt.
Now I wanna hire a human artist to design me a graphic tee with that man wearing that skin-face shirt!
Are we sure this isn't a video google "enhanced with ai".
It's not likely, considering he's got enough money to be a problem for them, but it would tie into thier plan to make everything look like slop so you can no longer tell what is slop.
Out of all the celebs that should be allowed to use AI, Will has had to watch his AI avatar fumble through eating spaghetti more than any person probably wants to.
Also, he’s cringe so whatever.
Why didn't he at least try to hide it with horrible video compression?
