No, but a lack of education, knowledge and also empathy. It's one of the great Achievements, but also tragedies of the 21st century that we're slowly starting to realize that information, education and knowledge are not the same.
Recency bias! Also back then a lot of stuff happened at a time. But then only one stiff happed for a bit. That's special.
