When there is a gold rush, be the ones selling the pickaxes. If the companies behind the models could make a profit using their models then why would they be selling them so freely?

The shovels/pickaxes in this analogy are the gpus and it has propelled nvidia to become the most valuable company on earth because they are the only ones actually making a profit. OpenAI and all the other ones on the other hand are burning cash by the billions with little return selling a collective delusion.

When there is a gold rush while the entire forest is on fire, please sell water pumps, and fire trucks... 30 billion dollars could have been spent on useful things to make the world better. It could have been spent on livable cities, cycling infrastructure, lowering the impact of climate change, or if not that, plain education and healthcare

Imagine if they’d paid real people $30B instead of boiling the ocean.

30 billion dollars that could have been spent on education and improving healthcare or stopping climate change

I'm so glad it was all spent on actively making the world a worse place.
