Brian Cox returning is surprising. Figured he was too big these days to do a low-brow comedy movie. Also, there was a Super Troopers 2? Why have I not seen it?

It’s not very good. It wasn’t as bad as a lot of comedy sequels released 20 years after the original, like dumb and dumber to, and it has Emmanuelle Chriqui (Sloan from Entourage) which is always a serious bonus, but beyond that, they just rehash all the jokes from the original in one way or another.

They got Jim Gaffigan back for the second one.

You suspect these movies are more fun to make than to watch. Like all the Rat Pack films that were an excuse for Sinatra and friends to hang out and rehearse.

I wrote off Broken Lizard when Club Dread had one (1) joke that I laughed at, and it was a goddamn Jimmy Buffet reference, probably added in post. Super Troopers was a fluke. And frankly Reno 911 swooped in to make better use of the concept, albeit in a different tone.

I still haven't seen it; in fact, when it came out, I'm pretty sure I hadn't seen the original. As such, I saw this clip on reddit and believed it to be real.

Still the only thing I know about the sequel, but that's good enough for me.
