by the way, TRUMPS court cases was bankrolled by billionaires, and people hot dog skin hogan was bankrolled by THIEL during his lawsuit against gawker. this is no different.

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 11 points 5 hours ago

YES! Let’s have this debate!

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 186 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

The current president has already set a precedent that politically motivated violence is a valid form of protest and free speech that doesn't warrant prosecution. Up until that the precedents were much different.

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 46 points 20 hours ago (5 children)

Yeah but the current president means politically motivated violence perpetuated against the left is only valid. Violence towards the right, and him especially, is considered treason and subject to ICE detention.

[–] artifex@piefed.social 39 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

Except everybody hates health insurance execs. It’s like the one thing we can all agree on.

[–] Krono@lemmy.today 6 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Why limit yourself to "health insurance" execs?

They are among the most egregious execs, but the capitalist rot has infected the entire system, not just one industry.

[–] bampop@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

Right wing voters still want to suck corporate dick, it's just that health insurance also screws them over in such an obvious way that they get a momentary, and very limited, flash of understanding. And so far nobody seems to have figured out a narrative of how to blame it on the left.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 6 points 17 hours ago

B---B---B---BINGO.

That’s the way this country has always been

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

Well he considers both types of violence speech, it's just you only have free speech to agree with him

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

Sure, but only if you let him stack the cards against you. Why should you honor someone who doesn't even honor your law?

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 7 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Whatever happened to Hillary Clinton’s basement pizza pedophiles? Where’s the CNN FOX NEWS update on that? Remember there were all these tunnels? Where they were raping children?

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 3 hours ago

it was epstein's island all along.

[–] bizzle@lemmy.world 113 points 20 hours ago (7 children)

Luigi for President, I don't know anything about his personal politics but he's gotta be better than Trump

[–] hypeerror@sh.itjust.works 8 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago) (1 children)

He shot a man on 5th avenue and his popularity went up.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

wow, callback to season 1

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 1 points 5 hours ago

Murder is only cute when republicans do it. It’s less adorable and downright dangerous when someone with a name like “Mangione” does it.

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 56 points 18 hours ago

The fact he allegedly started attacking from the top down is good enough for me 1000%. Fuck all this "poor people are the problem" nonsense.

[–] FilthyHands@sh.itjust.works 104 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

He has a few ideas about healthcare I can get behind.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 18 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Key word here being “behind”.

[–] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 23 points 17 hours ago

And if he happens to commit felonies then he's on track to be president

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 8 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Better than most Americans.
He's the only one that actually did something, unlike the people crying about Trump on social media.

[–] onslaught545@lemmy.zip 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Except he isn't the shooter.

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

something can be a lot.
Obviously Luigi should be free.

[–] Pringles@sopuli.xyz 12 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

That bar is buried in the deepest mineshaft ever dug.

[–] VonReposti@feddit.dk 5 points 17 hours ago (1 children)
[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 4 points 13 hours ago

i think i'm starting to understand those movies Journey To The Center Of The Earth and At The Earth's Core and that obsession. At one point we were actually digging just to see how fucking deep we could dig, and that's pretty neat when you think about it.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 21 points 16 hours ago

Anyone have the legit fundraiser link?

Please just message me with it... It's probably "against the rules" to publicize it.

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 56 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

"gee I wonder why people are so upset"

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 2 points 5 hours ago

The peasants are revolting

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 74 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

All im reading here is Luigi is a candidate and can recieve any amount of money possible.

Where do i vote yes?

[–] Thedogdrinkscoffee@lemmy.ca 81 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Luigi needs a presidential pardon, then run for office.

[–] teft@piefed.social 139 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

He should just run. The current guy is a convicted felon and luigi didn’t do anything.

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 52 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

Also the current guy had most of his criminal cases thrown out because he was running for president.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 3 hours ago

and billionaires were bankrolling his lawyers.

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 2 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

They were only dropped once he was declared the winner.

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 17 points 17 hours ago

A distinction without a difference when they were delayed because he was running.

[–] PixelatedSaturn@lemmy.world 63 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Good strategy from him attorney.

I mean it's kind of obvious, but still.

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 53 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

His attorney is absolutely top tier talent, and extremely well respected.

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 15 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago)

She's on MeidasTouch sometimes, she was an original talking head witht them from the start, always enjoyed her takes. Her ads she had to do were always funny too, feels like she's sort of in on the joke about the absurdity of a lawyer hawking a random product but its all good, clean, lawyerly fun 99% of the time plus a day

[–] Nightlight17776@lemmy.ca 21 points 20 hours ago

Luigi for president. Hell yes

This is pretty old, from the time he was arrested:

[–] HappyFrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Is there a link to the interview?

[–] HiddenPotential@lemmy.world 7 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

“You must be new around these parts.” There is no higher form of American free speech than the all holy dollar. Most Americans don’t even question that logic.

[–] Awkwardly_Frank@lemmy.world 9 points 17 hours ago

Most Americans question that logic, but, as money is speech, anyone who questions it in a public forum gets shouted down by those who can afford to speak more ~~"freely"~~.

[–] Pringles@sopuli.xyz 1 points 18 hours ago

The only reason why the US is not considered an illiterate country.
