AI tools like GitHub Copilot now write up to 30 percent of Microsoft’s software code.

That's a direct quote from Satya Nadella. If it's true (which I sincerely doubt), Microsoft is gonna have a bad time.

Copilot is basically the Junior Dev that copy and pastes code from Stack Overflow while having no idea how it works. At least the Junior Dev can learn how the code works and improve their skills. The same can't be said for Copilot.

Well, "someone" dropped a table in a Github database without checking if anything used it and put it in production without testing. So it might check out.

I have an AWS friend and he says most of these stats are BS. I think he said an AWS report claimed that a team increased productivity by X% by using AI. He was like, that's awesome, I know that team and I'm gonna speak to them! They said they basically felt like it improved productivity by that amount and submitted that to the survey the higher ups sent around.

i wonder if that's related to the number of CVEs recently? feels like every day i see a new exploit article about some Microsoft software.
