Conservatives spent at least two decades saying that queer acceptance is a slippery slope would lead to the normalization of incest, then bestiality, then pedophila, in that order. And then it turns out that being conservative was the thing that led to pedophila all along. So I'm left feeling like every accusation is a confession, and that homophobia is their way of covering their tracks.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 2 days ago

also incest and beastality, which conservatives seems to be okay with.

ah yes the party of small government

definitely not authoritarian

look, if I want to stick my dick in somebody's ass and they want me to stick my dick in their ass, what fucking business of the government is it

[–] lka1988@sh.itjust.works 15 points 2 days ago

Government so small that only a handful of people make all the decisions without any oversight

[–] C4551E@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 2 days ago

if they make everyone they don't like a criminal, then they can legally enslave them. not that they care about what the law says anyway, but it will appear more legitimate

The woman who accused then-Fox News host Pete Hegseth of sexual assault in 2017 said that while she did not have a complete recollection of the night in question, she "remembered saying 'no' a lot" and alleged that he prevented her from leaving his hotel room, according to a police report from the Monterey, Calif., police department.

The student newspaper he ran in college suggested that you can’t rape someone who is unconscious.

Furthermore, the leadership's will to indoctrinate is demonstrated by such fiascoes as the aforementioned "Reflections on Diversity" and also "Sex on a Saturday Night." The latter, a bemusing yet mandatory orientation program, revolved entirely around whether an instance of sexual intercourse constituted "rape." The actual instance portrayed in the skit was in fact not a clear case of rape – at least not in my home state. (In short, though intercourse was not consented to, there was no duress because the girl drank herself into unconsciousness. Both criteria must be satisfied for rape. Unfortunately, the panelists never cited any legal definition of rape.) Yet the panel – all females in the session I attended – claimed that rape it was. Regardless of technicalities, this esoteric incident was the sole focus of the presentation. The panel ignored the mundane yet profound moral issues surrounding sexuality with which the student is confronted on a daily basis. The administration does the student body a great moral disservice when it implements a program covering the logistics of the one-night-stand, in a very permissive manner, while ignoring the metaphysics.

He’s been married three times and is a serial adulterer.

“Pete said he no longer believed in God and family values,” a source with knowledge of the call told Vanity Fair. “He claimed he no longer wanted to seek the limelight. He said, and this quote is as clear as day, ‘I’m a f***** up individual.’”

I don’t think he’s a secretly gay or bi man. I think he’s the type that’s more worried that men will treat him the way that he thinks women deserve to be treated.

As long as you clasp your hands in prayer and ask Sky Daddy for forgiveness (which he will grant just because you believe in him) you can do anything. No contrition, no atonement, only profligacy and crimes against Humanity.

[–] Deathgl0be@lemmy.world 21 points 2 days ago

But not underage sex ? Like the entire administration

[–] setsubyou@lemmy.world 302 points 3 days ago (7 children)

I don’t get it… if he doesn’t like gay sex why doesn’t he just stop having gay sex and call it a day

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 96 points 3 days ago (6 children)

Think of it like Prohibition. It's not enough to give up on fun. You need to make sure nobody else is enjoying themselves without you.

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 67 points 3 days ago (3 children)

if alcohol prohibition gave us bootleggers, gay prohibition would bring us bootyleggers?

"Let's police things we can't control whatsoever" - Idiot Republicans.

[–] haungack@lemmy.dbzer0.com 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Not (just) "idiot", but evil. The "advantage," besides populist wank, is creating a new law that is enforced extremely selectively when you want to prosecute people for other, unconstitutional reasons. E.g. "We didn't infringe on their free speech, they were imprisoned for engaging in gay sex."

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

The thing is, they've done this before, several states still have "sodomy laws" to this day. It's fucking stupid.

[–] vader8er@pawb.social 23 points 2 days ago (5 children)

Getting real sick of all the fucking comments claiming that only closeted people are capable of being homophobic. It's bizarre how this absurdly homophobic take is so common. Stop blaming gay people for homophobia please. You straight people are indeed capable of being homophobic, as evidenced by this victim-blaming "joke".

When I was reading The Handmaid's Tale couple of years ago it felt like borderline fantasy, worst possible scenario kind of thing. Now it feels like it's maybe 5 years away.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Our whole continent collectively stopped analyzing fiction as warnings or analogies for what's real.

Or more accurately, the line between absurd fantasy and reality was slowly eroded as politicians and officials continued to push the line into the realm of the unbelievable, that people stopped caring about the line.

We've done it! At last, we've successfully created the torment nexus from the classic novel "Don't Create the Torment Nexus!"

Margaret Atwood specifically only included things that have already happened to women at some point in history so nobody could say it was far-fetched or out of the realm of possibility.

Gay people have always been with us and will continue to be with us. Stay the hell out of peoples bedrooms you damn Nazis.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 38 points 3 days ago (7 children)

Stay the hell out of peoples bedrooms you damn Nazis.

Unfortunately, we have a large and wealthy class of people who believe kicking in your bedroom door and arresting you for the crime of fucking is good public policy. And until those people lose power, they will continue to fund the social and literal murder of the LGBTQ community.

Complicating things further, we have monetized the process of stigmatizing minority groups. So not only do we have a wealthy upper class that believes in sexual prohibition. We have a profit-seeking industrial system that wants to maximize the amount of money generated through surveilling, assaulting, imprisoning, and publicly castigating members of the underclass. Until that engine of profit-seeking is destroyed, we're going to see poor residents turned against one another in the struggle to access the enormous economic surpluses horded by the upper class.

I say that Pete Hegseth should be banned from life. Gay folk, unlike him, actually make the world a better place.

[–] PixelPinecone@lemmy.today 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Peter Thiel is gay. Let’s just stop judging people’s goodness or badness from stupid things like sexuality.

These are some of the worst people. It's a mistake to just let them walk around, take on positions of power, and sleep soundly at night. Someone who espouses such horrible beliefs should be banished from polite society, at the very least.

They're not even secret about it. They have websites. With their names, faces, and where they go to church on sunday.

[–] MBech@feddit.dk 9 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Completely agree. These people wish harm on gay people, for the sole reason of them being gay? Something that literally doesn't hurt anyone. Then I wish harm on these people. I want them to feel pain, and I want them to suffer.

How they plan to enforce this lol. Putting cameras in people's bedrooms? They will have gay sex in the kitchen. The infrastructure to support enforcing something like this is insane, you need to get some thought police or something like 1984, where your own family helps the regime.
