It's not exactly breaking the mold...

...with nothing but their logo on it. So you can be a literal walking advertisment but you paid them to do so. For a $8 shirt that sells for $35, but is $70 with their logo on it.

Nothing says, "I'm really dumb with money" more than sportswear that has no practical use beyond general clothing.

I find it crazy that this comic was published in 1992. Still as relevant as back then. Maybe moreso.

TBF it has been a thing forever before that even.. mid eighties was joredash(sp?) jeans and members only jackets when I was in middle school.

This isn't even a fitness brand thing. Some fashion brands have been getting crazy on this.

Case in point, Ralph Lauren Polo shirts:

The classic Polo, small logo fine:

Errr, not sure why the logo needs to be THAT big:

"DID I YOU HAPPEN TO NOTICE I WAS WEARING POLO BRAND?!?"

All of these are real shirts and not photoshop. I just screenshot these from the company website.

What if you want to have the shirt covered in logos and walk around like a mobile billboard? Tommy Hilfiger has several solutions for you!

The more I look at it, the more mesmerizing the pattern is.

Definitely not a nazi symbol if that’s what you’re getting at.

but it's threatening to be one

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@piefed.world 11 points 13 hours ago

That's egregious, wow.

Wearing t-shirts with expensive brand logos is the only way to achieve your dreams.

Bet they don't even like horses, let alone plying hockey with them.

Self image exploitation is a cornerstone of capitalism. You're never XYZ enough no matter what, better buy!
