So naive to think the bad guys did not steal the source code. The bad guys just don't share the zero days and the good guys don't get to see it.

Omg a standing desk?
Linus was a bit of a trendsetter what comes to standing desks. In an interview he also commented on the walls, saying the paint colour is also used in mental institutions because it has a very calming effect on the human mind. (Goodness knows Linus needs all the chill he can muster.)
That paint color also makes his pants technically camouflage!

Why is "ios" the only one not in all-caps? Why does the apple hq list their mobile system while the other two list their desktop/workstation/server systems? Why does each get a different proportion of the screen/why aren't they equally sized/why are they not stacked vertically? Why is this man not using dark mode, and how is the obvious and glaring light bleed at the bottom-left of his monitor just get accepted?
This picture, it frustrates me on many levels.
Pretty sure "That man" is Linus Torvalds and the light bleed is actually the desktop background (looks like a photo)

iOS begins with a lower-case 'i', making this error more frequent.

Apple's most iconic product is the iPhone, but the meme compares software. So the 'Apple'-item then becomes iOS.
Why does each get a different proportion of the screen/why aren't they equally sized/why are they not stacked vertically?
The rule of three applies to jokes and typically dictates that the punchline is third and given extra emphasis. The layout reflects that tradition.

From what I've seen, Linus Thorvalds uses default work environments and doesn't care much about hardware beyond functionality.

Not everyone likes dark mode. I canβt speak for Linus, but dark mode seriously bothers my eyes.

As a longtime Mac user, I remember when my OS became basically bigger iOS.
WFH before WFH was cool. That's how cool it is.
Thats Not the Microsoft HQ. Thats their Munich Office.
I can understand why they went with it though, it's pretty difficult to find an image of 'the microsoft HQ' given that the real HQ is the redmond campus, and it's kinda comically huge.
Well, the buildings, of course, are funded by anti-user-bullshit.
I'm pretty sure they only built the spaceship because Steve Jobs was dying and no one was willing to tell him no. They're really proud of that shit
I mean, their entire design philosophy can be summed up as "form over function", so a circular building with all of the problems that entails makes complete sense.
IMO the apple campus looks like a urinal. Fittingly.

Most things can be done with a lot less resources than you think
Not for getting billions in unnecessary funding from people with too much money and such poor decision-making that I wouldn't trust them to house sit for me.
And the treadmill isn't even in the picture!
Why are Linux, Windows uppercase? Where is macOS? Why is iOS lowercase?

Apple's preferred spelling is that macOS and iOS not be capitalized, much like xkcd. But yeah, now that you mention it, that just says 'ios'.
Darn lazy memers
It was always pretty humorous to me that Microsoft named its early-2000s mobile operating system "Windows Compact Edition" and abbreviated it (officially) as "WinCE". The capitalization really mattered in this case.
I had the same question. The author didn't seem to employ the scientific rigor to call things by their correct names. It's as if they're treating it like spelling in a meme.
