You can choose which part you want, however where exactly is random based on the birth rate (if a region has a higher birth rate it is more likely that you are born there). What part would you choose and why?

That's a really interesting question! I admire the creativity :)

I think it would have to be K though, as that includes Australia and New Zealand, so no chance of being born in a developing country, unlike the others. I assume the Polynesian islands are not too great to live in, but idk.

Looking at this chart I realise once again that I maybe didn't win the lottery but got most of the numbers right.

C. It contains China's eastern seaboard which is the dominant prosperity region of this century. The stable long term planning and responsible investment into people is unrivalled and only beginning to pay back return on that investment.

K is objectively the right answer. Probably followed by A with a a bit of a dice roll on West Africa. Who wants to be born in a poor country?

I really like the concept here, but it needs some tweaking.

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 1 points 1 week ago (2 children)

West Africa? There's no letter for that, unless I'm missing it. There's J, which is a slice of Southern Africa that has insane income disparity, so you could be born in a village or a fancy private hospital to wealthy parents.

If you look carefully, A circles around B and continues through the Atlantic; there's no line.

Same for C, F and I with their respective rectangles.

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 3 points 1 week ago

Yeah, I didn't realize the letters in the ocean were for the whole quadrant

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh, it's the whole quadrant? Ok.

[–] sunglocto@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No, I'm saying that most of West Africa is in quadrant A.

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 1 points 1 week ago

Yeah, I get that. I didn't realize the A meant the whole quadrant.

[–] zxqwas@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

K is probably most likely to be a good life. B is my second choice.

[–] CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Are you a big fan of Mexico?

[–] zxqwas@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Bigger fan than most of the other options that was presented.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Is there any land it G? Like is it just to small to see or is it a joke option?

[–] RmDebArc_5@piefed.zip 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There are some inhabited islands in g

[–] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago
[–] myrmidex@belgae.social 2 points 1 week ago

I'd pick E if I'd land in Thailand. H would be a close second.

K is out of the question with my arachnophobia.

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 2 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Can't tell if D or E has a higher percentage of land, but your odds of being born in the water are high for G.

[–] magic_lobster_party@fedia.io 3 points 1 week ago

however where exactly is random based on the birth rate (if a region has a higher birth rate it is more likely that you are born there).

No risk of being born in water.

D and E has higher percentage of combat zones, so maybe not the best option.

[–] fullsquare@awful.systems 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

otoh E contains active warzone and D two of them or more, depending on how you count

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'd take war over not drowning upon delivery.

In order of preference: K,B,H,A,G,E,F,C,I,J,D

[–] jwiggler@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

I choose I. Why? I-C-E-D. Free? Yessiree. Cold and totally bold. Aloned and totally stoned.

I is the place to be. I is the place for me. High is the state of me. I choose I.
