Republicans lie. Their Presidents is Liar in Chief. He's a convicted felon and an unregistered sex offender. Those are facts.

[–] TimboSlice@discuss.online 4 points 6 days ago

Don't forget pedophile!

[–] ArmchairAce1944@discuss.online 20 points 6 days ago

People have been making jokes about this exact scenario for decades... a conservative who hates abortions until his mistress needs one.

They will probably have a euphemism for abortion going forward in some hospitals thay will cater to this type of clientele... because Trump has shown that there really are people above the law.

[–] 2ugly2live@lemmy.world 19 points 6 days ago

Oh my god, I can't believe it's exactly who we would expect.

Duh, thats how he knows that everyone is doing it.

Thank God.. We certainly don't want anymore of him

In a lengthy interview published on Friday by Texas-based independent outlet Current Revolt, Grace alleged that she and Capriglione — a married father of three who was elected to the state legislature in 2012 — had been romantically involved for almost two decades. She said the two met in 2004, when she was 18 years old and working as a dancer. Grace said they would meet at a variety of locations, including his home and office, describing the representative’s behavior as paranoid to the point of absurdity.

Did I do my math right? He was 31 and she was 18.

Born March 8, 1973 (age 52)

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 14 points 6 days ago (1 children)

That's pretty restrained by "conservative" standards.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 days ago (2 children)

We don't know her exact age right now, it could have been around 18.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Normally they go for 13 year olds, though.

[–] bitchkat@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (2 children)

Her exact age would be 2025 - 2004 + 18 = 31 assuming she's already had her birthday thus year. If not, she's 30.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Hey, you're math is fucked up btw.

[–] bitchkat@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Yeah, forgot to carry a 1. She was 18 in 2004 and that was 21 years ago. So she'd be 41.

The equation was correct but I fucked up the implementation

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Meaning, we're going off of what she said. We don't know if she's trying not to get arrested for illegally working underage or not.

[–] bitchkat@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I highly doubt the statute of limitations applies after 21 years.

And more likely that the strip joint would be in trouble not her.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

They're rounding up us citizens and sending them to el salvador or a concentration camp in florida with no due process. Do you really think statute of limitations would be a thing?

[–] bitchkat@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Whether she was 18 or not at the time isn't going to make a difference in her being disappeared.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

That's a good point, but we're still going off of what she said. She could have been 16, we don't know.

[–] Lucky_777@lemmy.world 171 points 1 week ago (2 children)

These people don't share your beliefs. They just told you they did. They told you so you would check a box by their name. They would gladly throw you off a cliff to save themselves or their exotic dancer affair partners.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 89 points 1 week ago

Exactly this.

Conservatives believe that they should get special rights simply because of who they are. This isn't grounded in a shared moral system; conservative values are about elevating the "right" people to power and privilege.

It's why conservatives don't care what the people who represent them do: they believe that their representative deserves to be there simply because they've signalled that they're culturally conservative.

It's an ideology for losers, and I mean that literally. The "left" side of the political spectrum is about empowering those who never had much to lose, while the "right" side is about reclaiming lost privileges for those who feel entitled to the whole pie.

The right isn't really against abortion even if they pretend to be; they're against it for the people who they want to control.

[–] gAlienLifeform@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

or their exotic dancer affair partners.

I think they would throw any one particular affair partner over that same cliff to save themselves and their ability to chase new affair partners, but otherwise you're spot on

Capriglione expressed a desire to ejaculate into cookie batter intended for a bake sale one of his daughters was participating in

“His fantasy was that — when no one was looking — that he would produce ‘baby gravy’ to put into the cookie batter before they were baked, because it was a turn-on for him,” she said, claiming that he enjoyed the idea that “all of the girls in the neighborhood would be consuming” his ejaculate.

[–] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 6 days ago

Sounds the green text

[–] lectricleopard@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

Too specific and male for her to have made this up. Woof. What a subhuman piece of crap.

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 45 points 1 week ago

The shitty part is that he said it was a fantasy but it's so specific that he probably already did it and just doesn't want to directly admit to it

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I’d like to think I’m pretty open minded to various kinks and desires people have but that was beyond anything I could ever imagine. Goodness gracious.

[–] LastYearsIrritant@sopuli.xyz 68 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Valid kinks require consent. This was forcing your sexual depravity upon non-consenting people, probably including children.

This isn't a kink, it's abuse.

[–] Juice@midwest.social 41 points 1 week ago

The fact that this act is directed toward children is especially telling, and not the least bit surprising

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

And it seems he also succeeded in fucking every woman in the state by removing their right to an abortion. I'm not sure it's a campaign platform or if he is just a sadistic fuck who happened to find a party that endorses sadism.

[–] half_fiction@lemmy.dbzer0.com 27 points 1 week ago

Calling ejaculate "baby gravy" alone should be a fucking crime. These people are so gross.

[–] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 51 points 1 week ago

There are no good republicans, but there are some exceptionally nasty ones.

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 49 points 1 week ago (2 children)

If Republicans did not have hypocracy, they would not have a platform.

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

If they didn't have double standards, they wouldn't have any standards at all.

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 23 points 1 week ago

If a Republican makes an accusation, it's really a confession.

You're up.

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

We need to stop calling this hypocrisy.

Republicans and conservatives are about oppression.

"Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

Anti-abortion laws are about punishing "sluts". Their abortions are allowed because something bad happened to them. Sluts deserve it because they should have just squeezed an aspirin between their legs.

Only one party cares about hypocrisy and it's not the Republicans.

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

God stop being right already. You're make the rest of us look bad.

[–] andrewta@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

The joke of all this. He's just free to do whatever the fuck he wants, and none of his friendly media or corporate allies will stop glazing him in front of his base.

[–] MyOpinion@lemmy.today 24 points 1 week ago

Of course they did. These people are the most vile human beings.

[–] rayyy@piefed.social 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

The thing is: access to abortion is literally a family value. The right to reproductive freedom means that a person has a choice if they want to risk a dangerous pregnancy that could leave the family without a caretaker.

[–] ragebutt@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 1 week ago
[–] aceshigh@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That’s how it always is with these people. Going forward, anytime someone wants to remove rights they should be first investigated.

[–] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 6 days ago

anytime someone wants to remove rights they should be first investigated.

I was going to suggest feeding them into a wood chipper but I suppose we can try your method first.

I’m not saying this isn’t true, but the original source on this, a blog-masquerading-as-news called currentrevolt(dot com), is a straight dumpster fire of awful opinions and shitty takes. So, take this “reporting” with a heap of salt.

Lol what a fucknut

[–] 52fighters@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Looking at the timeline, the legislation he introduced was before Dobbs overrode the Roe v. Wade ruling, so I think he was just promoting what he knew would be popular among his constituents and donators, thinking the legal landscape would not change in any meaningful way so as to make his law enforceable. I doubt he sincerely believed in his legislation.

[–] d00phy@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

More to the point, I doubt he cared either way.
